OKAY! So today I had to go to school and get my class schedule and textbooks.

So I went. I got my class schedule at the station and.....well lemme say this:

We have 8 classes.

I only got 7 of them. The 8th one, it seemed, was invisible and did not exist.

Only five of those seven given were the correct ones.

2 of them were not. And then there is of course......the invisible one.

Not to mention apparently my counselor is non-existent?

And none of my teachers were listed.

NOR THEIR ROOM NUMBERS.

So...pretty much terrible which means I can't get my textbooks if I don't have the correct classes.

So I hopped into a very long line that was about 50 feet (the size of our auditorium bc surprise suprise, it was in the auditorium)

FOR 2 HOURS

I STOOD IN LINE.

2. FREAKING. HOURS.

I COULDN'T LEAVE BECAUSE IDK WHICH PERIOD WAS MISSING/INVISIBLE. (turns out is was my fifth period) IT COULD'VE BEEN MY FIRST PERIOD FOR ALL IK!

SO YEAH. 2 HOURS. (More than two hours actually) THEY MESSED UP SO BAD THAT NO ONE HAD THEIR TEACHERS OR ROOM NUMBERS OMFG.

AND THEN 1/3 COUNSELORS LEFT AFTER THE FIRST HOUR.

LIKE BRO WTFFFF!

THEN THE SECOND COUNSELOR WAS GOING TO LEAVE AND WE STOPPED HER BC I WAS SECOND IN THE FRONT. LIKE OH FUCKING HELL NAAAHH! WE CONVINCED HER TO STAY AND FINALLY IT WAS MY TURN!!

So I sat down, told her the classes I signed up for........and there was a problem.

Actually more than one problem.

Animal Behavior class was full. It's very popular and its like seniors first come first serve for them. So it was pretty packed. She said she would secretly slide me in but if they have to drop ppl.....I was going to be one of them. I agreed.

NEXT:

One of my classes didn't have enough students to sign up.....which means that class didn't exist FOR MY GRADE. SO OFC THEY DUMP ME INTO DRAWING. UGHHH.

LIKE WTF??? And I want to take minimum of 2 APS this year....but due to that classs......I only had one. None of the others sounded interesting or I was saving it for senior year or I had to be a 12th grader to take it.....so....yeah.

I have a few options to what to do.

1. I try to talk to the assistant vice principal Abt what I can do. Most likely....I won't be able to get into said class and will have to take smth else.

2. Choose between AP literature or AP Biology. I don't like science but I've had many teachers and friends try to convince me to take AP bio. My only AP class currently is AP English Language. AP lit is not really recommended to take at the same time as AP Lang and only for 12th grade...but they do make a few exceptions and I can be one of them. But, AP Bio is easier than AP Lit but I'm more interest in AP Lit than AP Bio.

3. I move my math to 3rd period and take an AP in my first period.....which opens up more APs....but.....there aren't really much that I am interested in..in fact...it mostly lists everything I DONT want to take.

4. I take an elective instead......but I'm not sure I am interested in any of the electives that are left open for me to take....


AND ONE MORE THING I AM CONSIDERING: I am fully prepared to be kicked out of Animal Behavior and I'm expecting it. BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE DUMPED INTO PAINTING.....I could replace it with Broadcast Journalism...but that might change my schedule so we will see Abt this.

Advanced Placement. It's basically a really hard class u take to skip it in college if u plan to head in that direction.

Basically I want to k!ll myself by taking hard classes that I either PASS or FAIL.

Doesn't matter. Point is.....I'm struggling with this and I have....two days basically to make my decision...or else I'm stuck with no 3rd period.

JS saying...this poll doesn't really matter too much. Ultimately its up to me to decide but my family is not helping me AT ALL with getting rid of one of these choices.

It also helps improve my GPA (I have over a 4.13 GPA rn) so I can reach Valedictorian or Salutatorian

okay so this is gonna be pretty mixed so i'm just gonna write my opinion on this
1. you should talk to the assistant vice principal about the numbers and stuff in each course
2. don't choose biology if you don't like it because then you'll get drained while studying it. so if you had to choose one and the vice principal said that there's no other option then choose AP lit
3. don't do that because you aren't interested in any subjects from that slot
4. don't do that either

Also AP lang is really fun and easy, i took it in 9th grade, i’m taking AP lit next year and if i of all people can do it, you [ SOMEONE WHO’S WRITING A BOOK/ BOOKS ] definitely can.
And if you’re not very creative / artistic painting sucks. But broadcast journalism seems really cool. And so does animal behaviour.

do you have like a list of all the options in each slot?? because i don't do APs but when we had to do a similar thing with choosing subjects we had a list of every subject we can take in each period if that makes sense so nothing overlaps

actually generally in australia (including where i go to high school) it isn't offered here, only a few schools use it and even that it's only used for international <3

biology might be the shittiest subject ever created i hate stem. and if you hate it too then DONT do it, trust 🥹 take ap lit !!

its primarily and mostly just a part of american education. most countries dont use the same format for advanced classes, and its not offered as classes around the globe 🫣

2 hours part...yes! The APs? ALSO YES. BUT I HAVE GOT TO PUSH MYSELF IF I WISH TO MAKE VALEDICOTRIANNN! My darn guy friend currently holds the title for that rn and I'm not sure I can beat him (He's taking 6 APS this year) so my best bet is that he leaves the school (he's thinking of doing that) or I get Salutatorian

OH GIRL I AGREE. I would rather take AP CHEM if I had to but our school teaches AP CHEM so hard that it is considered the second hardest AP to take.....

Besides APUSH. APUSH is actually available but that would switch out my H US History Class and that class has like my fav teacher in the school....and APUSH is a nightmare since it is THE hardest to take

AHHHHH GIRLLLL!!! I AM SO SORRY!!! THAT SOUNDS TERRIBLE!! I think since you don’t like bio (I don’t really like it either) then you should take the AP lit class not the AP bio class.
I don’t care if some people say it’s harder or whatever, or if people try to convince you to take bio, do what you think would be best for YOU!! If you choose a class you don’t like or aren’t interested in, I promise it will be a nightmare!! GOOD LUCK, I HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT IN THE END!!!
