It is a dystopian with The Maze Runner feels but is very Christian and clean.

To all the boys I’ve loved before is a pretty good option imo! I go to a Christian school too lol

Sara Ella is a Christian author who has written some AMAZING fairytale retellings! They’re not typical “book club” books but they’re so good nonetheless!

Depends on what age you're starting the book club for.

For elementary school my main recommendations would be:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (or any Narnia book)
The BFG (kids love this one)
The Mouse and the Motorcycle (Beverly Cleary is such a fun author)

For middle school, my recs are:
The Winged Watchman (this is a good introduction to what can be a hard topic - WWII)
The Hobbit, or There and Back Again
The Merchant of Venice (I know Shakespeare seems daunting but this is a great one to start with - it has plenty of dramatic irony and humor the kids can appreciate)

For high school, my recs are:
Till We Have Faces (C.S. Lewis called this his best work)
A Tale of Two Cities (sooooo many amazing themes to discuss)
Pride and Prejudice (this would probably be best for a girls-only club)

Also shameless plug but my mom is the author of a homeschool literature curriculum published by Catholic Heritage Curricula called "The Treasure Trove of Literature and the Art of Understanding It". Since she initially intended these to be used for book clubs, they can easily be adapted to fit that format. If you aren't Catholic you can just skip the parts about the saints etc.

Hello. If you want a book inspired of classic I suggest this book The Silent Journey A Little Princess (1995 adaptation) meets American Girl and Show Me a Sign. It is middle grade historical fiction.

I think that The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson is a really good read and it is written by a Christian author, and It's a series.

I like this series by Emily Thomas called "The Secrets of the Blue Hill Library." It's a mystery series, but the MC's are Christians and there are mentions of God and praying. No spice or cursing, although the MC is a widowed woman with two children, so it's not a teen protagonist. I'd also recommend the classics like Anne of Green Gables, A Christmas Carol, LOTR, The Chronicles of Narnia, Little Women, etc. I'm also kind of blanking though, but I have a TBR shelf of Christian books that you can look through. I haven't read them yet, but I do extensive research to make sure they're clean!

Erin Phillips writes books that are fantasy retellings of women from the Bible. Currently she has A Crown of Chains (the story of Queen Esther) and A Bond of Briars (the story of Ruth).

Leah E. Welker has a YA romantasy series called Blood of the Covenants that is hope-filled and clean. Highly recommend this one.

Healer’s Blade by Kyrie Wang is a clean medieval romantasy.

M. K. Felix writes clean romantasy fairytale retellings with Christian themes.

Dragons in Our Midst by Bryan Davis (or any of his series) are good middle-grade fantasy options that specifically incorporate Christian values into the stories.

Some other authors to keep on your radar who always write clean no-spice, no-language books are Charlie Holmberg (romance, fantasy, historical), Jeff Wheeler (epic fantasy), Mary Mecham (romantasy fairytale retellings), and C. J. Brightley (romantasy).

Also any book published by Shadow Mountain is going to fit your criteria as they are a Christian publisher and do not publish anything with explicit language or violence or spice. They publish books in all genres and for all ages so there are too many to list, but one of their most well-known series is Fablehaven by Brandon Mull.

Lastly, some wholesome classic stories that are worth the read are books by Diana Wynne Jones, The Wingfeather Saga, and The Chronicles of Narnia.
