I want to read eventually

I have read only first 2 books, and I haven't read Assassin's Blade, so I don't know... :0

so here are the justifications for reading it:
first - you get to know about the fmcs past and go on the journey WITH HER (i read it this way - imo it has the most emotional impact bc a. you don't get spoilt what happens at the end of ab through the other books and b. you go on the journey with celaena and understand her pain at the beginning of tog)

third - (the argument i heard the most) celaena doesn't want us to know about her past until after crown of midnight
apparently third also has a lot of emotional impact but i read it first so...

i say read it first! but LISTEN it doesn't really matter - the only thing is you have to read it before queen of shadows. doesn't impact the plot otherwise

I haven't read it yet, I'm only starting to get into the series. Put off reading so much simply because I was confused about the order and still am 😭😭 I hate it when books can be read in multiple orders like no please-

I’m reading the series now and I’m starting with the assassin’s blade, but to be fair I didn’t do any research as to what order was best.

i talked to some people who worked at a bookstore and you shouldn’t start with it. i read through heir of fire and im reading it now because you AT LEAST need to read it before queen of shadows to understand the stakes of the events (according to some fellow book people)

Is it bad that I’m up to kingdom of ash and still haven’t read assassin’s blade?

Read first because you should go on Celaena journeys as she does. Also that main reason that convinced me when I read it was that you should meet Sam Cortland before you meet any of the other men in the series.

i read it first and it helped so much with understanding it

I recommend it first because:

1) The last sentence of Assasin's Blade is the 1st sentence of Throne of Glass.
2) Sam deserves to be loved first.
3) You may find Celaena annoying in Throne of Glass about some of her decisions but if you read Assasin's Blade you are going to understand her better as a character. I'm sure that you're going to love her and you're going to find her dicisions in ToG completely understandable.

I never read Assassin's Blade because someone told me it doesn't affect the plot. I have read till Tower Of Dawn and I plan to read it before Kingdom of Ash. I know it's wierd

After Heir of Fire because Queen of Shadows hits different if you do it like that.
