I love both! I like the longer reviews typically when there's a lot to discuss and unpack from a reading, but the shorter ones are good for a basic summary of your thoughts on a book. it definitely depends on how you feel about the book and which type of review is more fitting for it <3

TBH, I look at how long a review is before I read it. If it's more than a few paragraphs I skip it. All I want to know is if a book is worth reading or not. I don't want a synopsis of the book.

It depends tbh. If the book is complex enough and requires some character/plot analysis, I'd definitely want to read a longer analytical review. Like, for Babel, I'd WANT to know some of my fellow readers' opinions on the issue of colonization and its depiction in the characters. Same with classics. On the other hand, for chill, more known books like The Lightning Thief, I'd prefer a more fun review not exceeding 1-2 paragraphs!

Shorter reviews are easier to read fast if one is in a hurry, but I always appreciate a longer and analytical review 'cause I write them myself too. I sometimes post a shorter one on here and a longer (and perhaps with marked spoilers) on my StoryGraph. If you have multiple platforms to post your reviews you could do that too.

Honestly, I prefer shorter reviews because I don't have the patience to read the long ones all the way through. That said, I do read both. Maybe you could post your long reviews but include a summary of your thoughts at the beginning or end—like a shorter review—to keep everyone happy.

Ditto, I can't run the risk of TMI.

I only read long reviews of books I've already read. They can be entertaining yes but the risk of them spoiling any surprises are too high. I absolutely loathe knowing too much going in. It isn't a game changer but it is annoying.

I write long reviews here (at least, long by GR standards), of both fiction and nonfiction. I've even gotten into an extended debate/collaboration with an AI researcher after writing GR reviews of a few of the papers he's published on ArXiv. If there's a better place for me to post my reviews, I'm not aware of it. A few people find and appreciate them, and I don't worry too much about the masses who never see them.
