Guys I need help what book should I start writing first and any advice in the comments would be amazing!

So the ideas are:

1: a girl in a tribe in the forest and she becomes tribe leader ( not saying how because that would be a spoiler!) then the price of land that they are on breaks of because of like a earth quake or something and they convert it into a boat somehow as they sail the ocean then they come across new tribes she falls in love with one and one is trying to kill her

2: a dragon academy where people learn how to become dragons this is a secret school and her enemy tries to kill her multiple times and there’s a bunch of corrupt government and stuff and the warriors of the kingdom have been fighting against the dragon tribes for years and they have no idea where they keep coming from until the kings daughter gets a invite to the dragon school and she has to decide to reveal the school or become her fathers most hated enemy

So those are both of the ideas which one do you think would be best rn and also any writing advice would be very nice on how to like plot it and stuff

Tysm everyone

Sophia Bachowski Ok so I love 1 but if you end up doing 2 maybe add an enemies to lovers type thing like add a character on an opposing side to make it interesting. But if I were to write the first one I’m just curious about who was the past tribe leader if it was like her mother or something then maybe make the death be tragic and make the main character have to like prove herself worthy of being tribe leader or her get blamed for her mothers death and maybe has to hide somewhere at the other tribes camps and thats how she meets her “enemy” and maybe make it enemies to lovers or smth but that’s just my thoughts! Anyway happy writing and lemme know how it turns out!

Nala Tourmaline I love number 2. It has so much potential and if you pull it off and finish writing it I would LOVE to read it!

Summerrays (I have Heepression) ~ Jungwons version~ And Sofia it would kinda be like a jack Barlow situation but you did give me an idea she would be enemy’s with him and his best friend but the best friend doesn’t like the way he is treating her it could be dual pov and then they start falling for eachother her and the best friend even though he is bullying her

S.K. Hammad While the Dragon Academy idea (Idea 2) is definitely easier to market because fantasy academy stories have a huge audience, and it already includes many elements readers enjoy—political conflict, secrets, betrayal, a dangerous rival, and a protagonist forced to choose between loyalty to her father and the world she discovers—it also feels closer to familiar fantasy tropes.

It naturally brings to mind magical schools (not because it's the same as Harry Potter, but because of the academy setting), the recent popularity of dragon-rider and dragon academy novels, and common storylines such as the enemy becoming an ally or a princess discovering that everything she believed was a lie.

That doesn't mean it's a bad idea at all. It has plenty of potential, but I think it would need a truly unique twist to stand out in today's fantasy market.

Personally, I think the real challenge and the greater opportunity lies in Idea 1.

A girl from a forest tribe whose journey evolves into an epic voyage across the sea immediately creates a strong sense of adventure and discovery. Every new island or tribe can introduce its own culture, traditions, beliefs, creatures, and conflicts, making the world feel vast, alive, and constantly surprising.

I also love the protagonist's character arc. Watching her grow from an ordinary member of her tribe into its leader, and eventually into an explorer who must navigate political and emotional challenges, gives her a compelling path of growth.

I think this idea has much greater potential to become something truly memorable if it's executed well. The only part I'd suggest strengthening is the explanation for how the piece of land becomes a boat. As long as that transformation fits naturally within the world's magic or lore, readers will be happy to go along with it.

What excites me most is that this story isn't confined to a single setting or a fixed cast of characters. The sea voyage opens the door to endless possibilities. Every tribe your protagonist encounters can become its own unique world with its own history, mythology, conflicts, and storytelling style, while your main character serves as the thread connecting them all.

That gives you incredible creative freedom. You can build completely different worlds, introduce any kind of creature, civilization, or supernatural force you can imagine, and because each new land has its own rules, you won't always need lengthy explanations for why things are the way they are. The world itself becomes limitless.

I genuinely wish you the very best of luck with your new novel. I hope it turns into the amazing story you're imagining.
