hii, i recently read up about this thing called the matilda effect, which is when women in STEM are not give credit for their discoveries and inventions. i thought it was really interesting and since i’m more into the arts, i was looking for some sort of equivalent for when this happens with literature/art, but i couldn’t really find a name for it. so i thought maybe i could come up with one? i thought of the Muse Effect because of the way muses were originally in ancient greece the source of knowledge but gradually today have become at the service of the artist + don’t really get credit or anything.

anyways, i just wanted to know if that’s like something you can do, just sort of come up with an effect? i have like zero qualifications and im kind of going off of historical examples and some of my knowledge, but yeah.

idk, but any opinion/thoughts are welcome!! i also would love to discuss with anyone because this is such an interesting topic for me :)
