How do we treat our books… (write ins encouraged 😁)
I love my books and read them sometimes spines get cracked but I do my best. Never annotate though. Can’t do it
(write-in)
THEY ARE MY PRIZED POSSESSIONS I ANNOTATE THEM AND USE BOOK MARKS AND NEVER BREAK THE SPINE
Books are meant to be used!! Cracked spines and dog ears all the way
I take very good care of them! No creases or dog ears lol. I don’t annotate books because I am such a perfectionist so I am afraid of messing up, tho I will annotate non -fic books or books for school.

I try to take care of mine, but I don’t care if it shows wear, cause it shows I’ve read it lol. I don’t care for dog ears, it doesn’t bother me. And I don’t annotate much but I love reading annotations
(write-in)
Very well taken care of and dusted often, never fold pages or break the spines
(write-in)
Cracked spines and annotations sure. But dog ears are a crime
(write-in)
I read the book and i do nothing to it except maybe bend the pages or cover in my backpack. It’s completely accidental!
(write-in)
HATE dog ears, careful as I can be with the spines and I’m just learning to be okay with annotating and I love doing it!
(write-in)
my books are so well-loved!! cracked spines, countless annotations, and dog ears if I really want to remember something
(write-in)
I TRY not to crack the spine but if it happens it's not the end of the world, and annotate SOMETIMES, but NEVER dog ear!!
(write-in)
cracked spines but dog ears? unheard of!
(write-in)
Most of mine have cracked spines because it’s not a big deal to me but DOG EARS?! Criminal.
(write-in)
depends on the book, honestly. i’m all for cracking spines and dog ears, and annotating is one of my favorite hobbies. that being said, now and then i’ll treat myself to a special addition or collector’s item that i take VERY good care of and sometimes don’t even read. but for simple reads i often just thrift them for really cheap anyway lol. books are meant to be loved
(write-in)
I annotate sometimes if im not lazy ans dog ears if it is ABSOLUTELY important and trying not to crack the spine
(write-in)
I accidently crack the spine sometimes, or bend the cover, and thats okay. i try not to do those things tho lol. I annotate sometimes, I'd like to do it more. and honestly dog earing is my primary way to mark a page (don't kill me)
(write-in)
I don't crack the spines of my books. Although I do annotate books I read for school with my glitter gel pens (only copies I buy). The books I borrow from the the Library I NEVER annotate or break spines.

almost all my books look as if they were bought today. no cracked spines no annotations and no dog ears. the only exceptions are books I used for college, which sometimes have notes and marks, and books I bought secondhand so they already came with some love... but the ones I bought fresh stay fresh (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
I CAN NEVER ANNOTATE MY BOOKS😭. All my books look pretty much new even if I have read them several times. And which is why i rarely lend books because it almost always comes back with the either a broken spine or some annotations and that breaks my hearttt
Most of my books are in excellent (basically like new) condition. Though I do have a few childhood favs that are well loved lol
All my books look like they’re new 😅 very rarely do I have cracked spines and I never dog ear or annotate them 😂
I read mind and if a page even gets folded on accident I flip out lol. NEVER crack the spines or do dog ears!! And most books I don’t annotate, except some of my Christian ones!
All my fiction books look exactly how they did when purchased… or they’re not on the shelf. . Non fiction books are thoroughly annotated though 😅
I am the - 'my books are so well-loved!! cracked spines, countless annotations, and dog ears if I really want to remember something' ----- but it is compulsory for me to use bookmarks ---- I just dog-ear when I am in a hurry for class (I am a teacher) or there is no bookmark in sight ----- and I don't dog ear library books. But I tend to bend spines a lot - all my books have bent spines including the poor hardbacks. After I am done with my books, they look like they have been through a World War. :) <3 :D And yes - coffee stains aplenty as well. Not my fault - they just get in the way when I am trying to run to teach class. :) :D <3
sometimes i’ll treat myself to a special addition that i don’t mess with and sometimes don’t even use for reading. it’s just meant to be a trophy on my bookshelf lol. but most other books i buy, i thrift for really cheap so dog ears and cracked spines all the way, i don’t care if they look loved 😂 (however, my unspoken role with myself is if it’s over like $15 then i’ll crack the spine if necessary but no dog ears and i won’t write in it unless i bought it for that purpose and plan on annotating the whole book :))
