I mean if it’s there i won’t mind and if not even that’s fine and i don’t have any opinion for people who like it bcz me myself am not a hater so yeah ;)

i don’t know what option to pick but personally, i don’t mind it & even find it good at times. i don’t think it’s necessary but i’m alright with it being there. smut can sometimes be a good addition, sometimes it’s unnecessary and i think it shouldn’t be there icl. just depends on the book

i personally don’t love smut, but it doesn’t change my view on someone, i could care less if someone likes smut :)

i don't personally like smut, but i won't decrease my rating because of it, because it's usually obvious that it's spicy going into it. I HATE when the characters romance is driven by lust and not an emotional connection ☹️

I am very neutral on it. I think that sometimes it can serve the book well. Take The Deal for example: the smut really helped to tell Hannah’s story and her overcoming her trauma. Or take slow burn romances: the smut really feels sometimes like a satisfying ending for waiting so long for the characters to get together.

HOWEVER.

I firmly believe that a romance book can be just as good without smut. It is not a necessity. Personally I do not mind it at all, and in some cases I actually like it (🤪), but i think a book can be amazing without it as well.

If a book has one or two smut scenes I do not mind it at all, even if the book doesn’t necessarily need them. But usually, 3+ scenes, especially for shorter books, are not really my thing. But it’s not what will decide if i like a book or not.

I read a book recently that had multiple smit scenes, and while it was a bit much, the book was so good that I didn’t even care lol. So it just really depends on the book❤️

I HATE spice because a) I am a Christian and b) I just physically cannot read it. I mean just the thought of reading two people *doing it* makes me feel like I’m sneaking into a couple’s bedroom and standing in the corner watching them. No thanks 😅

And yeah spice affects my ratings. I don’t mind closed door or fade to black, though I prefer it to be between a married couple

as a christian, i don’t read it, no. i feel like that’s something that should be between two married ppl ONLY and reading it is no better than watching p0rn 😭😭😭

and i wouldn’t say it effects the *rating* of the book, bc i feel like the “rating” is about the quality of the book, not the contents. so if the rest of the book is five stars, then it’s freaking five stars smut or no smut. if it slaps, it slaps. but personally if i go into a book knowing it’s a wee bit freaky, i just won’t read it. or if its just like a specific scene or two that’s easily avoidable then i will skip it. :)

that being said tho, i don’t really like romance lol. obviously there’s nothing wrong with it, i just personally don’t enjoy it so i feel like if i tried to read a spicy scene i would find myself thoroughly bored and skimming to be quite real💀💀💀
