Okay.. Since this book is not currently on the GR bookshelf, and I don't know if it will ever be placed there, I am forced to write my full review in my groups instead of just posting my review link. So I thought that I would do another Review Poll as well.

So, I am gonna give this one a solid 3.75✨

Walk with me a moment..

Let me tell you the things I love about this story.. I love the world/planet they are on. I am a bit biased since I have a deep love for the color purple and its meaning.. Always have. It's also one of the colors in my hubby's family crest..

All the different hues, soft and bold that it comes in, I love.. This world has purple lavender skies, deep rich purple water.. the plants, trees and soil an array of different colors as well.. I smell the dirt. Felt the soil between my toes. Felt the breezes and the sweltering heat.. Did I mention the Loxian warriors are purple as well? Different beautiful hues.. These things were written beautifully IMO.

So naturally I fell in love with the world and warriors.. Our Alien MC, Vynn, is a gem of a male. He's strong. Beautiful and capable. He has a compassionate heart and soul. He is also one not to be phucked with if you value your life. or your legs. A deadly erotic, irresistible combination.

Tina, you love her. She is not one of those TSTL females so already she has my respect from jump. She is written a bit, simple though.. I wanted more depth with her cause I like her, but what was given here works for the story, I guess. So I was not put off by what was missing with her..

The plot and plight for our characters is what keeps your attention and is the driver of this story.. Normally I prefer PNR to have a lot more heat alongside a great tale, which I still wanted here, but the secondary plot appeased me enough to keep me here. The way this one is written, especially when it comes to the enemy race, the Nugiens. Unfortunately it reminds me of how our country, the US, operates when it comes to different races and politics of the land. This is so not a good thing or a shining beacon of hope as many try to say we are.. Or should I say, the country I was born into is..

Anyway, you can just imagine the nasty, vile things the Nugiens have done over the galaxy by the time they get to Loxia, and they plan to do the same things there..

The pacing of this story is done well too.

Another great way this story is written are the great extensive action sequences.. They are written awesomely! I saw EVERYTHING being played out as if I were watching it on the TV screen.. You get a real feel for Vynn and his fellow warriors and family in these moments. They are strength and grace personified. They're determination and grit. Fearless. But there is something that occurs in chapter 9 that just completely gutted me. This whole chapter had me on edge and screaming at my kindle, for all of the adrenaline and violence and fear that I witnessed here. Then there is how this chapter ends as well...

These are all the things that got this one to the 3.75 mark for me..

Now, why this one could not be a 5 ⭐ read for me is because, like I said earlier, if you are writing PNR there should be some scorching white hot chemistry between the MCs.. Since you're writing the romance into the plot, you might as well go there. REALLY go there.. This is PNR. Not strictly Urban Fantasy and not a light contemporary romance read. Which unfortunately, I am sad to say, this is exactly how our Vynn and Tina read on the page together.
Don't get me wrong. They're sweet, adorable together even. You really do see and want them together. They fit.

But when it came to the heat factor here? Ya'll, it is dry here.. As dry as a hollowed out bone, let me tell ya. I mean, I was so confused about why the heat was missing, that I was over here like..


So yeah, there was MUCH left to be desired here. You were left wanting in this arena for sure. Which was a bummer for me. Cause again, this is PNR. That means 🔥🔥🔥🔥 heat factor needs to be scorching or at least on point..

Also, there were a few grammar errors here.. Missing words etc.. A couple of minor scene continuum errors as well. It could use some Editing TLC definitely. But it is not nearly as bad as some books I've come across with this issue though.. If these things are cleaned up, and the heat factor expounded on a bit more and better, this could be a worthy purchase of a read..

These are the ABCs of me when I'm reading this genre. What I want, expect and long for in a tale like this..

It sounds to me that you like more passion (not just sex) in your story.

I can get into that,... I don't normally search for those kinds of stories,.. but i'm in the middle of Half His Age,.. and I don't know where it's going to go.
