I am sorry about your experience with the ignorance of others that has caused you to step back from this book platform.. Honestly, I believe all these issues came when Gen Z folks came here in mass, treating this site like any other social media platform. This isn't FB, Insta, or TikTok.. It's a book site, period. But these last several years it's been looking and acting quite differently... Since I'm pretty sure this may be your generation doing this, please know I do not include you in the masses.. Clearly your mentality is more evolved than some of your peers.

What I'm saying is, you shouldn't let anyone's actions run you away from your space. Period. So Phuck Them! And everyone that looks like them..

I'm so sorry that you experienced that. People can be so vile sometimes. I'm not on Inkit (I only just learned of it's existence reading this) and while I have Insta I barely use. However, I'll definitely give you a follow there as well. Have you considered a Discord? I've been in several that were writing centric and perhaps if you were to create your own server it might function more like what you're looking for? Just a suggestion though. Good luck on inkit.

Even though the people involved were around my age, I do think difficult people can be found in every generation, and I completely understand what you're saying about how online spaces have changed over the years.

You're absolutely right that we shouldn't let other people's behavior drive us away from the things we love. I'm trying not to let the negative experiences overshadow all the genuinely wonderful people I've met, like you. But I’ve realized I need to take a break for my own peace :)
