I had the same experience with the first one, and ended up dnf’ing the second. So if we’re anything alike, it’s just going to be a flop series overall

ok honestly I don't remember it that much but I know I liked them all. so I'd say maybe just start reading the 2nd one and then decide.

I read the first and second but the content was just getting worse so I didn’t finish the series.

Ok, so I honestly really loved TIG, but then they added things like girls dating and that made me so uncomfortable, and I knew I shouldn’t keep reading it after that. (Feel free to come after me I shall be ignoring every hatful comment, I have my opinion everyone else has theirs) And then I looked up if it got any worse, and it very much did, so I gave up on the series. I do still own the first book, but I’ve been planning on getting rid of it anyway.

but i still enjoyed it, its just not a series i would read over and over again and recommend it to everyone

I've never read them, I'm afraid. My niece (whose taste is very similar to mine generally) thought they were very meh and didn't like the characters. 🤷‍♀️

(The closest I've gotten is hearing the author in a podcast once, and it put a bad taste in my mouth 🙊)

The second one was my favorite, but if you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like the others. And I don't like Jameson either

Personally, I LOVED the whole series, including the first book! I would say try to finish the series tbh.

Dude I’m gonna get cancelled so hard for this but I lwk felt the same wayyy 😭😭😭 The entire series was super mid imo and I see why people love it but it’s just not really my cup of tea… if u didn’t like the first one tho I would stop bc the second one is kinda the same 😅

Girl I PROMISE YOU the series is INCREDIBLE. Jameson and Avery will both definitely become some of ur fav characters (at least I hope so lol) I would say keep it cuz it gets SOO good!

Please read it!! Even if you think Avery is boring and you dislike Jameson, the plot and the puzzles are WORTH IT!!

In my opinion the first book was good but not anything special, but I loved the next two books bc they had so many plot twists. The Brothers Hawthorne isn't worth it tho

Since you've only read the first one and didn't like it, I'd say sell it or donate it somewhere. It's a waste of good shelf space where you could put books you actually like

So I don’t like Jameson eitjer but it was well worth it to go through t tje series because the plot was so interesting and GRAYSON. Well… you need to get to the spin-off series to understand but READ IT ALL so you have context

i think the second book is WAY better than the first, and that’s coming from someone who had to dnf the first and pick it up again to finish. I’d say try the sequel and if you don’t like it give the box set away!!

The Inheritance games isn’t the greatest, but honestly book 2 is much better than book 1 in my opinion, so just a thought. I haven’t read book three yet, but I’d suggest maybe reading book 2 before deciding if you want to get rid of it? It’s honestly such a quick read as well (I probably read it in three hours on a plane i think)

It totally gets better! The second book is better and then the third book is even better! If you don’t like the second book, then maybe that’s when you should stop.

I've read almost the whole series, and I do have to admit that it starts to feel like it's dragging as the series goes on. However, I think you should read the second book just to give yourself a chance. I wouldn't want you missing out on a book series you might love! If you still don't like the second book, feel free to chuck it :)

omdssss finally another person who agrees!!! i hated that book soooo much avery was emotionless and jameson was a butt and weird calling avery mystery girl and then proceeding to calling her MG when she didn’t like it. (just commenting bc i agree not bc i have an opinion bc i have yet to read the others too!!) but i will say don’t get rid of it in my opinion bc in a year or two form neo you might change your mind etc. you can always get rid of but you can never get back! (woooo i sound like a poet) without spending money that is

You are not missing much, I did like the 2nd, but the first was the best. If you didn't like 1 I wouldn't keep reading it. Also don't read the spin off series or games untold/ same backwards as forwards. It's the same story practically!
