This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi is a very underrated one! I will warn you though that it's incomplete (the fifth and final book should be released next spring but we don't have an official release date yet).
Throne of Glass is AMAZING. It does get spicier at around book 5 but many still classify it as ya but if you're avoiding spice proceed with caution!
If you need a good cry: We Were Liars. That plot twist... I was unwell for days on end. HIGHLY recommend and it's clean!
