I work 10+ hrs every day and then go to the gym so if I want 8 hrs of sleep which I try to get then there is literally not one minute I am free to read.
In my opinion and experience, it's hard to keep a mind healthy if the body surrounding it isn't healthy too; it's all one system. Moving around as much as you're physically able is important; wild animals tend to have superior health, and IMO it's partly because they rarely stay still for long. I often don't feel well--I by-my-will force myself to move around more through the weakness and pain because if I don't, I'll probably wind up in a wheel chair.
Exercise is generally healthy for the body; books--good-quality ones at least--are healthy for the mind. Books can expand that "muscle" just as well as lifting weights can expand some of the other muscles. But just like you need to rest in between weight-lifting sessions, you might also need to rest between reading sessions. Do what feels best and healthiest for you!
