Heyy everyone, so I need author/writer advice. I am in the mood to write and plan a book, the only issue is my ideas haven’t made me absolutely set on writing and happy. I have a few ideas but no clue where to take them, or I just feel bored with them. Id live literally and advice or ideas and what to write and how to love my ideas.
I don’t know how to help, sorry.
Ohhh my gosh same!
I’ll comment some advice!
I’ll comment some ideas!

Hi! I’m Grace and I’m in the middle of getting a book written and published!! So my advice is don’t give up on ur idea!! And some ideas are Mystery: plot abt a true crime podcast gone wrong
Romance: enemies into lovers
(My book is called The Light Behind The Closed Door) it’s a mystery that takes place in a small town with secrets that are getting found out by new comer that was a city girl, Clara Hart!!
Btw don’t listen to advice from ur friends or non writers (they have no clue what the heck they’re talking abt and they just wanna “be in the book”) u got this!! Make that dream come true🫶🏻
So I have like a bajillion ideas, I have a fantasy ish war with enemy sides and soulmate stuff, I have a cute military relationship style, a devil human I’ve known you were mine, a girls best friends older brother thing, a cute college I don’t know who you were idea, a princess and sea god with the whole I’ve chose you enemies to lovers. I’m thinking maybe the princess sea god one but have no clue what to do
Grace thank you!!!! You book sounds amazing! Good to know, everyone says do an outline/plan then write. What’s your planning idea?? I’ve heard of the snowflake method but that doesn’t seem amazing for me
So sometimes if I'm not feeling motivated to write I just write chapters of the book (random ones) that I find interesting.
Kaylee,So, I'm what's known as a pantser when it comes to writing. I come up with an idea - usually written in the form of a book blurb - and just GO. I lose my fuel when I attempt to plot everything and usually end up hating the idea of writing it.
And here is some sorta hard advice since you asked: Don't write because you want to have a plot. Write because you have a big question and a character who wants their story told. Maybe your big question is "How do you forgive someone who hurt you?" and a female character who constantly gets left behind by people...but one day, someone comes BACK after forgetting about her. Now, can she forgive them to accomplish a big goal? Do you see how different the inspiration is vs something like "I want to write a fantasy book." Maybe even start with an aesthetic, song lyrics, or your favorite fairy tale. See what you can twist to build your own story. Life is too short to write something you don't really care about, so find something you do.
Shades I seriously needed that. Yesterday I was bored and wrote a little dialogue, so maybe I can build off that. Maybe I’ll do a mood board and then write based off that. Maybe I’ll use the idea and then develop it a little then write it.
Basically just get a notebook and brainstorm for like ever that’s what I’m doing currently I’m been brainstorming for a little while on a book. I want to write and just slowly eliminate some of your ideas that you don’t find interesting anymore and take your time is like a big one you really wanna take your time on writing a book and getting stuff done like that.
Hey! I'm a published author, but my advice is pretty basic: write a random scene in the middle or any spot of the book. Like, write it with your plot in mind and see if you enjoy it.Just write that random scene for five-ten minutes and see if you really enjoy it.

Honestly I think that if you want to write something but you don't have any idea good enough, you can just write some random scenes.I mean, you can just write some moments and scenes, without linking them together and without the need for them to be part of a larger story.
So in future you may use them for a story (or not).
Anyways you will still have fun writing them without too many thoughts.
I hope this could help you!!

I think that’s what I’m going to do. Now to decide the scene idea!

I will make sure to ask those crazy random questions for your answers 😆
Honestly, when I’m stuck and lacking in inspiration, I just write! I know, it sounds super basic, but nothing can get the creative juices flowing and help me develop plot lines more than simply writing! This is what works for me, at least :)
