Elentiya Read something better? Try the prison healer series or something that gives you a pure adrenaline rush!

Lenka Bohuslavová Have you read ice planet barbarians? I always read those when I'm in a reading slum

Mora ౨ৎ I always think trying a different genre works the best, I randomly saw this in my feed so idk what you just read/usually read but that generally works! or even trying a different format, e-book > audiobook > physical etc. Or 1 novella to take the edge off or so.

Hope you get out of it asap! 💖

Hannah ✰⋆.˚ Something fast paced! If you like sports romance I recommend the Vancouver storm series - they’re all really fast and easy to read!

_talanoas_bookish_journey Reread a favourite read/comfort read, change genres, try a different way of reading (audio, physical, ebook) or remember it’s OK to take a break :)

Kayla I’ve been in a slump since November last year so maybe I’m not one to be giving out advice but I agree with everyone else. Something fast-paced, a different genre (I used to put away romance books one after another but now I can’t so I switched to thriller/action/mystery and it seems to help) and switching to audiobooks. I think the repetitiveness of reading physical books became too overwhelming for me (if you can imagine lol) so switching it up might help

Jaime-Lee Harpole I love re-reading my favorites that get me going back up again 😋

message 9: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Quick answer: I re-read my favorites.

Longer answer: Sometimes my brain just really needs a break and I'll give it a week to just be, before picking up a re-read. Or just jumping into a book I've been looking forward to, even though I don't feel like reading it. If it's a good book it will reel me in and stop the slump. One last thing, I personally have trouble breaking slumps with physical reads. It almost always has to be an audiobook. I need to be doing other things while reading, to help break me out of the slump.

Edith I read KU only books so if I'm not hooked within 5 minutes i dnf. So the slump never last long. I'll eventually find something good.

F. P. When I can't read anymore prose (which happens often lately), I'll read a medium that's "easier" to read: comics.

Because it's often the case that at least half a comic's overall story and the time I spend reading a comic is spent on imagery rather than words, I can rest my eyes more and step away from having to process so much language on the page.

Contrary to popular belief, comics sometimes contain great storytelling--and great insights. They're not all funny and fluffy, and I think the advantage comics have is that they can stimulate multiple aspects of people's brains at the same time, giving the reader quite a full reading experience.

message 14: by Kate (new)

message 15: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Trynor I usually like to go back to a comfort favorite read or try to watch something on tv and come bcak to reading
