I do 😭😭😭I don't think aussies have anything to do with it- but maybe I'm wrong bc I'm australian and I do hip hip hooray??
we do it in the uk as wellbasically how we do it is one person says hip hip and everyone says hooray and you do that twice
and then the person says 'and one for luck, hip hip' and everyone says hooray and then u just kinda cheer and clap while they blow out the candles
For like little kids I do but in our family we are forced to sing for reveryonei say hip hip horrah until like they are 10

Well i live in australia and we all do it so i guess 🤷♀️
Most of the people i know (in the us) do the counting thing like “are you one, are you two…” etc. until you get to their age. And of course the cha cha cha
