message 4: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Archer Well, I've heard great things about all 4 of these books, but I haven't read even one of them. I want to , but I am just not in the mood for them yet. From what I’ve heard Fourth Wing is great if you want dragon vibes (How to train your dragon etc), ACOTAR is great if you are a fan of Beauty and the beast. And I’ve heard great things about Throne of glass as well!!

*+:。.。 ale 。.。:+* I love polls! I’ve read them all except Throne of Glass (on my TBR). It just depends on what you’re looking for genre-wise. I liked all three very much. I’d say Fourth Wing has a deeper sense of world building and action than ACOTAR. Binding 13 absolutely destroyed me and I sobbed for an hour after.

✥❤️‍ Kayla ❤️‍✥ Loved Fourth Wing as well but voted ACOTAR because it's basically complete (I know she's gonna have more within the series but it's basically complete).

Alina ♡ I love these polls, don‘t worry!

𝑊𝑦𝑏𝑖𝑒 𝐵𝑜𝑟𝑛 𓂀 𝑡𝑜 𓆣 𝑑𝑖𝑒 Lol, never read ACOTAR but from what I’ve heard it’s very cozy, and if you don’t want to commit, you can just read the first 3 books😌

message 21: by Lea ★ (new)

Lea ★ the way i cant choose which one bc i love them all 😭😭 you truly need to COMMIT if you want to read any of these

TribesReadingObsession All read and loved, except I haven’t read throne of glass series
Fourth wing / acotar fantasy, great one complete one you have to wait wait wait
Binding - mature dark themes in regards to mental health, trauma so check if your cool with that it’s quite in your face in a few books but it’s amazing and healing in ways, but some are yet to heal in the books as they aren’t completed yet

message 23: by Em (new)

Em Can I rec a series that is well written? None of these have very strong prose. They are basically the fast food of fantasy novels. You might check out Sabriel by Garth Nix or Red Sister by Mark Lawrence or The Wayward Children Series by Seanan McGuire (not for children)--Seanan McGuire has won ever fantasy award multiple times. Her prose is amazing. Over My Head by Charles de Lint begins and incredible series and it won multiple awards. I often check in with the Locus, Nebula, and World Fantasy Awards to see who is nominated as they are safe bets.

message 24: by Em (new)

Em PS: This is in no way to say that you can't enjoy these types of reads. I read everything, including plenty of fast food novels. Just wanted to suggest a variety.

message 25: by Rmplift, (new)

Rmplift, Rachel Phillips I would honestly read Binding in-between these series. It'll be a nice break.

I read the ACOTAR series then read the TOG series and it was just fine. TOG is supposedly a prequel but I didn't see it. Also they are two vastly different writing styles so if you think one is slow then the other series will be much faster

message 26: by Yenicall (new)

Yenicall All of the above! Obviously Fourth Wing is my favorite. But all of them are really great and you'll enjoy them all!
