I honestly was so back and forth between Blood over Brighthaven and Hunger Games. I love Hunger Games and have read the original trilogy at least 3 times and Blood Over Brighthaven is shamefully still on my TBR.
If you’ve never done tge Hunger Games, or even want to do another close reading in the current times, I highly encourage it! I led a book discussion on it for a banned book “club,” limited event and reread it looking at it from the standpoint of why someone would want to keep it out of young people’s hands, and it was like seeing it in a new light. The amount of social commentary in it is amazing, and I didn’t even realize it. It’s amazing.
