Poll

Hey my bookish guys and gals! I’m having trouble staying invested in what I’m currently reading (probably has to do with a book hangover from a certain romcom *side eyes if all else sails*)
So can y’all rec me your fave book(s)? Try to convince me to read it! lol. It can be any genre as long as it’s clean (or just include content warnings so I’m made aware).
Thank you, my loves! And happy reading!

Sure I’ll comment

Sydney Falling like leaves by Misty Wilson Is really good

nekah leigh (Jesus' version) Picking daises on Sunday's was a cute book! I think there was some minimal language, but other than that it’s clean!

Izzy {writing hiatus} Thin Air by Kellie M Parker (an amazing claustrophobic thriller)
The whole series of the Ballad of Emery Brooks (you will cry but it’s worth it trust me)

message 4: by Preslee (new)

Preslee Okkkk so Throne of Glass but there are a lot of trigger warnings and spice, Dance of Thieves- warning is there is kidnapping and torture but not to bad, Prisoner Healer, warning there abuse, substance addictionish, Picking Daisies on Sundays, warning sexual assault, and the hottest man everrrrr, and Assistant to the Villain, warning abuse, talk of torture, and makeout scenes and talk abt s&x but pretty clean. Hope this helps!!!!!

୨ৎ─⋆YASMIN₊˚✿ - ALL BOOKS BY ANN LIANG!!! (if you could see the sun, I hope this doesn't find you, never thought I'd end up here, and this time its real)

- you can look on my profile for clean romcoms if thats ur type of books! <3

message 6: by Katniss (new)

Katniss Everdeen Okkkkkk let’s do this! Hunger Games only the best series in the world! It’s a dystopian and stuff, but you know it’s still AMAZING!!!! Divergent it is awesome!!! There is one “part” that you may want to look into, but nothing crazy. And last but definitely not least Keeper of the Lost Cities!!!! We all love this series and by all I mean everyone on earth should try this series!!!! Love ya girly hope you love these!

Laylah Marie, Darling Legendborn by Tracy Deonn is always my go to, BUT Clem’s romance wise……….Highly Suspicious and Unfairly cute (I believe it has a few closed door scenes and such but nothing explicit) and, Betting on You is a favorite of mine as well! ALSO, I’m really loving Book Lovers (Emily Henry this one IS explicit) and Yours Truly Abby Jimenez (also explicit) and if I think of more I will comment more!

message 8: by Rotem⭐️ (new)

Rotem⭐️ Legend by Mery Lu, highly recommend the whole series, very fast paced!!!🩷🩷

Mia❤ (⋆˚。⋆JESUS LOVES YOU!!!⋆。˚⋆ ) ✨DUST BY KARA SWANSON!!!✨ IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER!! It's clean and I do have a review with content warnings if you wanna check that out! PLEASE READ IT!! That and A time to die by Nadine Brandes!😍

Princess Autumn (At Camp Half-Blood for Summer) Pretend She’s Here by Luanne Rice!

message 11: by emerson;) (new)

emerson;) 'Anything' by Kristina Welch. I will rant about it all day long. It is a clean, contemporary Christian romance and I think it's exactly what kind of book the genre should be made up of. It's sweet, and swoony, and so godly. And book 2, 'Anywhere', is coming out Nov 4th!!!! Also amazing and unbelievably adorable (dealt with a bit more mature content but still clean!)
'Falling for Korea' by Piper Jean. Another amazing, clean contemporary romance.
Finally, 'Better Off Friends' by Elizabeth Eulberg. This one was so unique and really cute. Had one swear word but otherwise it was clean.

Haylee (Jesus's Version) :D When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer is really good! 🤩
It’s a Christian book but there are a few things. I have a content warning in my review if you want to check it out! 🩵

message 13: by B.D (new)

B.D I don’t know if you’ve read this series yet but the first book is suspended in the stars and it kind of reminds me of the lunar chronicles. I’ve only read the first book but it was really good.

message 14: by Sydney Smile (new)

Sydney Smile Legend by Marie Lu!! It's not my very fav book but it was fast paced, fun, unique, cool...it's just so good!!

The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux is PERFECT for this time of year so if you want a fall book pleeaasseee read it there are 2 free audiobooks of it available on Spotify!!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith CHANGED MY LIFE it may not be the best book to get you out of a slump but if you're into coming of age, life-changing, thought-provoking stories for sure pick it up!

I hope this helps girlie!! <3

message 15: by Sydney Smile (new)

Sydney Smile oh and all of those recs were pretty much clean, the only thing I will warn you of is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn has an SA scene that made me a lil squirmy

message 16: by asabella (new)

asabella PLEASEEEEE READ NOT QUITE DEAD YET BY HOLLY JACKSON IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!
the only content warnings are swearing, a bit of violence, and just a general sadness around the entire book? other than that I can't think of anything...oh yeah, a mention of infidelity.
BUT PLEASE READ ITTT it was 6 stars for me and I honestly don't think a book has made an impact like that on me...ever. it was so saddd BUT SO GOOODDDD!! <3

 alina ⋆˚࿔ DIVINE RIVALSS

Libby-not really active anymore:( My Life with the Walter Boys is really good!! It's like my favorite book. It does have some swears words and suggestive content but I read it at twelve and thought it was fine.

message 19: by Kylin (new)

Kylin Swearingen Alright buckle up because ima just start listing the best books ever:
The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni is the single best series I’ve ever read. Ignore the fact that absolutely nothing happens in the first half of the first book because I’m telling you it’s worth it. As someone who has all kinds of mental struggles, this book was so incredibly encouraging. It’s like you take amazing psychological advice and wrap it in this package of riveting fantasy. And if you read it for no other reason, read it for Jaren, the book boyfriend to end all book boyfriends. The language is pretty minimal but it’s there. I can’t say it’s not dark. There’s death magic and mentions of self harm and drug addictions. There’s also a gay side character. But man it’s incredible.
The Inheritance Games is popular for a reason. Those characters come alive and make you fall in love with them. The puzzles are high stakes and fast pace. One of my favorite series ever. There’s four different book boyfriends to choose from and the fmc isn’t annoying or pick-me-ish like a lot of fmcs are. These are the kinds of books you read in one sitting. The language is present but not insane. More than The Prison Healer but much less than a Lynn Painter book. There’s a lot of innuendo but nothing more than that romantically. There’s a lesbian couple that is caught kissing once. Jameson also gets drunk a lot but we love him anyway 🫶
Caraval is another one of the best fantasy series out there. I’m one of those few people who think Caraval is better than Once Upon A Broken Heart and Julian is better than Legend and Jacks combined. This book is absolutely magical. And her writing 😍 I’m so in love with it. There are three book boyfriends to choose from in here. There is no real cussing. There’s a weirdly high amount of scenes where characters drink each other’s blood. There’s a bit of innuendo mostly by Julian. No language at all I don’t think.
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson is a book I’ve called my favorite standalone for a very long time. There’s romance and a mystery and wonderful friendships. Frank is such a sweet guy. I can count the amount of times it cusses on my hands maybe even one hand. There is skinny dripping and a kiss where the guy puts his hand through her bra strap which is quickly ended.
Shatter Me is the best dystopian series I’ve ever read which is saying a lot. I couldn’t put those books down. They had very high stakes and the most lovable side characters. Such an interesting writing style too. The language is rough I ain’t gonna lie. They curse like sailors. And the romance is fade to black but man they push that line.
The Selection is a wonderful little dystopian romance book especially if you’re into Disney princess movies. It’s like The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games lol. Maxon is a wonder man I love him so much. There is very little language. The main character tried unsuccessfully to seduce a guy. There’s some making out but nothing more than that. Sex is talked about but that’s it.
The Naturals is the one of the only thrillers I’ve ever read cus that’s not my kind of thing. But man JLB’s writing is some of the best I’ve ever read. I’ll eat up anything she writes. The found family is amazinggg. There’s a love triangle (Team Dean 🫶) as well as the greatest little friend group. The plot twists are insaneeee. It’s about this group of kids that have natural talents that make them great at solving murders. So that’s what they do. It’s pretty gory, but I’ve read worse in fantasy books. The language is present but not a lot. The You chapters are told from the perspective of a murderer but use the pronoun you to make it sound like it’s talking about the reader. It’s pretty terrifying. There’s kisses and a little innuendo but that’s it.
I hope this helps pookie 🫶

message 20: by Kylin (new)

Kylin Swearingen And you’ve already read Shatter Me and The Selection 🙃 mb girl
Also The Naturals has a very small side character whose gay

message 21: by Mereda (new)

Mereda Hart Farynyk Lol, I honestly just thought of Looking for Atlantis, but I know you don't have that one :-p. The King's Bride on KU might be a good one to try! I think that one's super fast paced and fun and easy to read. The love story in that one is really fun, too :-p In my opinion 😆

message 22: by shiloh (new)

shiloh I just finished Drawn Together and OMG it was so good!! Soooo autumny and aesthetic too 🤭 CWs would js be innuendo, mild swearing and heated kissing

LucyReads (semi-active) I’d recommend Hearts Overboard by Becky Dean if you’re in the mood for a romance. Or There You’ll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones

message 24: by Jaida (new)

Jaida The sweet as sugar maple series by Kate Watson (read it in order no matter what) it's so cute and pretty clean I have the content listed in my reviews for each one

Caught in chaos series by Janessa Fayeth (also read this in order I would say Date with danger first then Taken with trouble next read engaged in espionage and lastly married to mischief) it's so cute!!! All five stars

Sophie [semi-hiatus] Foster ooh, yes definitely agree with @yasmin, anything Lynn Painter, though be warned, you might get a hangover from those too 😅

Caraval, OUBH, The Naturals, The Inheritance Games, Seven Wonders (by peter lerangis) all fast paced and entertaining, if I think of more I'll be sure to come back

message 26: by Arwen (new)

Arwen Baggins You should try 100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons. It's a clean contemporary romance, the main character is Christian, and the author was actually homeschooled.

It follows 16 year old Tessa, a poetry blogger who recently became blind after a car accident. She's very upset and resentful, until a boy named Weston decides to help her learn to get up when life knocks you down, as he knows from experience.

I really enjoyed it and would recommend giving it a shot.

∘✿∘ɢɪᴀɴɴᴀ∘✿∘ So Not Happening series by Jenny B. Jones I read the series in March and I’m still thinking about it!🥹 also There You’ll Find Me also by Jenny B. Jones . It’s so good and the romance is just chef’s kiss 🤌🏻😭 and it’s Christian. Another good one is Flipped it’s about 2 twelve year olds just growing up and experiencing first crushes. It’s also set in the 1960s. It’s soooo good!😭😭 also the movie is amazing I definitely recommend!!🫶🏼

❣️A FOREST OF STOLEN MEMORIES BY CALLIE THOMAS &
❣️A SEA OF GOLDEN CHAINS BY CALLIE THOMAS (technically they’re standalone but READ IN ORDER!!!!! or you’ll be very confused)

❣️DARE BY TRICIA MINGERINK (a Christian fantasy and book 1 in a series / hints of romance in this one)
❣️DANCING WITH THE WALLFLOWER BY ANASTASIA LAYNE (a YA sweet romance contemporary with the friends to lovers and long-term pining tropes)
❣️THE RULES OF FALLING FOR YOU BY MOLLIE RUSHMEYER (a Christian romance contemporary with the Best friends brother trope and whole lot of yearning ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥)
❣️HEARTS OVERBOARD BY BECKY DEAN (YA Romance Contemporary with the enemies to lovers trope set on a cruise ship)
❣️LOVE AND OTHER GREAT EXPECTATIONS BY BECKY DEAN (a YA romance contemporary with the friends to lovers trope set in the UK)
