i tried to read it before but there are too many names thrown at u and it's hard to figure out the situation. kill joy is a prequel to agggtm but u should read it after tbf & ur not missing important info if u skip it

I’d say after bc if you read kill joy first it probably wouldn’t be very exciting/meaningful if you have no context to who pip is! That being said, I really enjoyed kill joy, but I think what I enjoyed about it was reading about pip again after everything that happens in the main trilogy
