hi i need help! basically, i've read dance of thieves and i didn't enjoy it because i was so confused so i dnfd it. i recently found out that we have to read the kiss of deception trilogy, before dance of thieves. and i want to give dance of thieves another shot. so if you've read both of these, is it important to read the kiss of deception trilogy before dance of thieves or should i just continue dance of thieves and i'll get the world building as i go on? thank you💗💗

Pretty sure they're both still standalone series. It's not even a Shadow & Bone / Six of Crows situation. If you're not enjoying it without reading a whole another series, DNF. Or you could try Kiss of Deception on its own, it's very different in style.

I need to know too, but I have seen that you read KoD series first? Because that's the first series in the world? But it's totally up to the reader as it is a series that can be read on its own.
i meannn the deception series isn’t rly great but it does somewhat help u understand the world better so i’d recommend doing that. bruh u just reminded me that i still need to read the second book of dot LMAOOOO
I’ve only read Dance of Thieves, which I personally thought was really good. I’ve wanted to read TKoD for a while so it would be crazy if you have to read it first 😭
I've read the dot duology only and i really liked it and i havent read the kiss of deception series yet !
I read both and i started with kiss of deception. I loved both books. You may get many spoilers from dot that are in kod. I would recommend reading kod before if you like knowing the all the details about the backstories. Kod is years before dot and it makes dot so much better because you know what they went through. Pls read kod before
