If you’re in the mood for something OTT: Tentacular Tales https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6..., otherwise if you’re in the mood for mystery/crime: the audiobooks for the Valor&Doyle series. Basically everything narrated by Nick J. Russo or Greg Boudreaux 😬
Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman - narrated by Jeff HaysThe Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwall - narrated by Jonathan Keeble
The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie - narrated by Steven Pacey
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher - narrated by James Marsters
Shogun by James ClavellFirst Law and Age of Madness trilogies by Joe Abercrombie
Name of the Wind and Wise Man’s fear by Rothfuss
In Other Lands, The Spear Cuts Through Water (amaaaazing!!!), The Corruption of Hollis Brown, Blood Over Bright Haven, The Warm Hands of Ghosts, The Unmaking of June Farrow.
Illuminae Files has a full cast recording and is sci-fi. Graceling also has a full cast recording and is fantasy. I like the Lunar Chronicle audiobooks, which are sci-fi with a little fantasy and dystopian. The Hunger Games audiobooks are good, which are dystopian. Another series that has good audio books is A Good Girls Guide To Murder, which is myself. I hope this helps!
Some great suggestions above! A couple I really enjoyed this year would be Blood over bright haven by ML Wang or Children of gods and fighting men by Shauna Lawless
I second Dungeon Crawler Carl and First Law. So good as audiobooks. I also hear that the audio for Project Hail Mary is excellent as well, but I haven’t listened to it, just read the ebook.
I recognize I’m not adding anything new here…Currently re-listening to The Dresden Files. James Marsters IS Harry Dresden. One of the few times I would argue that physical reading a book is incorrect.
Dungeon Crawler Carl is probably the BEST quality narration though. It’s partly graphic audio style and Jeff Hayes does an absolutely legendary job. He’s unreal.
Steven Pacey’s narration of First Law is phenomenal as well.
I’m sure you’re familiar with LOtR but if you haven’t listened to Andy Serkis’ narration of the series (Hobbit as well) it is a MUST
Carrie Soto is back (sports drama), Addie La Rue (romantic fantasy), Empire of Silence series (sci-fi), Tress of the Emerald Sea (whimsical fantasy), Hyperion (classic sci-fi). I would stand by all of these in written and Audio format. Hope that helps!
(Ps I’m in the minority, but I don’t love Hyperion after the first book)
The Binding- I adore Carl Precopp. The Rivers of London
Vita Nostra
The Daevabad Series
Mythos
The Bone Season series
🥰

The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett narrated by David Tennant. Actually any audiobooks narrated by David Tennant - the range of voices he does are brilliant
+1 for The first Law trilogy for Steven Pacey - He does an excellent job with the audiobook narration, especially San Dan Glokta.Sherlock Holmes (Complete Collection) and Harry Potter narrations from Stephen Fry,
Lord of the Rings and Hobbit narration by Andy Serkis are great ones too..
I am currently listening to Michael J Sullivan's books set in the world of Elan and the narrator Tim Gerard Reynolds does a great job!
It really depends on genre, I love murder mysteries so Anthony Horowitz (the Hawthorn and Horowitz series in particular) and the Murder in Paradise series by Robert Thorogood is really good too. But again, it really depends on your tastes
The His Dark Materials series has fantastic audiobooks. I also recommend the followup series (starts with La Belle Sauvage). Her Majesty's Royal Coven, Thorn and Malice also have great audiobooks.
Michael Sullivan's Riyria books and Legends of the First Empire are narrated both by Graphic Audio and Tim Gerard Reynolds (who did Red Rising). I enjoyed both versions.Sabriel -- first three books read by Tim Curry -- EXCELLENT job
Many of John Scalzi's are read by Wil Wheaton -- Lock In, Head On, Starter Villain, The Kaiju Preservation Society, etc. The Dispatcher novellas are read by Zachary Quinto.
The Bartimaeus trilogy is read by Simon Jones, an awesome narrator best known for the '80s BBC miniseries of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
To Kill a Mockingbird read by Sissy Spacek.
Dresden Files with James Marsters, but he's not that good until about the third book.
Andy Serkis reading LOTR and The Hobbit.
Michael Kramer does a lot of Sanderson books, and he's great, but Kate Reading often joins him, and I HATE her voice. A lot of his are on Graphic Audio now as well, so no danger of Kate ruining those.
I prefer Stephen Fry to Jim Dale for Harry Potter, and he's finally available in the USA. (Jim Dale did The Night Circus, and I think that made me really hate him as I hated the book as well, but that's a minority opinion.)
An Easy Death by Charlene Harris. There is a little romance but it's mostly an alterative history with gunslingers and magic.
Most of the audiobooks that I listen to are of the mystery genre. I don't know if they interest you.
The Chronicles of Narnia, the entire series, with the "Focus on the Family Radio Theatre," is absolutely fantastic, and it feels as if you yourself step into Narnia. With a full cast and sound effects, all that's missing is you to live it.
Blackfish, narrated by the author. It's great, you feel the pain and the love the author has for the whales. Also, I'm glad my mom died, it invoques similar feelings.
The lights that blinds us by Andy Darcy Theo. It’s ya fantasy and by far the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to
Sadie by Courtney SummersThe VRC series by Alice Winters
The Soulbound series by Hailey Turner
Impact Winter by Travis Beacham
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
It's a shame that Neil Gaiman is not a good person because the audiobooks for The Sandman are incredible
Also, I haven't listen to it yet, but I've heard that the audiobooks for the Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman are a lot of fun
'The Tail of 'Too Bad' Mike' audiobook narrated by Eilidh Beaton .It's a fantasy about a skateboarding shrew and his friends, lots of fun and full of unexpected twists.
The Tail of 'Too Bad' Mike

Can't wait to read Cornwall I hear it's good. I can't imagine listening to The First Law..... Must be a unique experience 😂
