I voted for "No" because I think choosing the right book is a big part of the challenge. Maybe make it available instead for non-competitive teams on this challenge?

I voted no for competitive reasons. NC purposes it's all in fun so I'm not sure it matters other than half the fun is finding a book to fit.
I am taking note of how many competitive players vote yes vs non-competitive players. That will be taken into consideration as well. Like I said on the signup page, I was asked in the Q&A so I wanted to know what everyone thought before I made the final decision. I will make the decision this weekend to give everyone a chance to have their say.
Banking undoes the part of the challenge that has an inherit order and I say this as the person holding up the one for my team.

So you could bank books and use them for the first part of such a task (spell out clown, for example), but the second part could only use books finished after the spell-out is complete.
I like to be able to more books around for higher points; so I'd say yes.
BUT, I agree with Sammy's comment regarding any Event/Topic that has something that has to be finished before something else can be finished.

Ive only played a few games where you could bank books and i wasnt that keen .If i got a new clown and could fill in all tasks from banked books then id feel like id missed out and id probably still have to wait for the rest of the team .
From a non competitive player

Psst, are you going to vote? Non-competitive players are allowed to vote also.

Oops ..forgot i had to vote as well 😄😄
The comments here are extremely helpful. I put links in all the threads so everyone else can chime in by the end of the poll.
My problem is that I always, and I mean always, read the only book on my tbr that fits a task a day or two before I end up needing it. I'm pretty sure I'm cursed 😆Because I read a lot faster than my team mates at the moment, that's a dozen or more potential books per clown I'm taking out of the running and will cry over having read too soon later 😂

I voted yes for non competitive teams. It probably wouldn’t be fair for competitive. I agree with Sammy. I’ve had a book work for a current challenge a week or two after I read it for another challenge. And I thought this might also be a way to complete more clowns before the end of the challenge.

This happens to me a LOT, too!

I'm on a competitive team and I still vote yes! I'm in the same boat as a lot of others who read/finish a book RIGHT before a new task that covers it and that's so frustrating. As for having books that are banked and finding books to fit a task, if anyone's memory is like mine you won't recall a lot of the banked books' details anyway. lol But I like banking books. I think we could definitely take Sammy's post into consideration by circumventing things without really changing the challenge.
I didn't vote in time but wonder if a different caveat to banking books would be that there is a time limit for the banking - since several of the comments (which I agree with) are about having just finished a book that would have worked. So maybe the banked book has to have been finished no more than a week or maybe 10 days prior to the posting of the current task? That would help out the cursed ones among us but also make it so we're not grabbing books from weeks ago and making it "too easy" (is there such a thing).
