Could try reading in a different environment, eg. library, or somewhere else that is out of home, sometimes this really helps and makes things exciting again. Can take a full day or more off reading and do some other activities, maybe outdoors, could refresh your mind. And when at home, if possible, try and remove the distraction of the internet, and read a paper book or e-reader that doesn't allow regular internet access. Good luck!

I always turn to old favorite reads of mine when I get in a slump. I have a series I always turn to and it feels like I’m visiting old friends. (It’s The Touchstone Trilogy by Andrea K Host if you are interested in it. One of my favs!) Good luck, reading slumps are the worst. I hope you get out of it soon!
U can buddy read/ go to a gr8 reading spot/ read a book that u’re rly interested in & is highly rated/ participate in reading challenges/ set a goal & reward urself when u complete it/ read short books w/ short chapters/ join book clubs/ light a candle & listen to songs or music while reading/ get or do a reading journal/ try reading a new genre/ ask 4 recs from sm1 u trust or like their taste/ switch up ur reading environment/ re-read ur all time fav book/ download reading tracker apps where u can do reading sessions & strx on
I reread old novels or fanfics that I love. And also scroll on Insta to see reels about books and of course download them immediately once I get hooked by a quote 😄
I would tell you to read a book that you really want to read, if it is short, better. But without thinking about pending books, just choose one that you really want to read, whether it is a repeat or a new one.
i like to reread favorites that can help, also creating an ambiance to read can help. i usually read something shorter and faster paced like a dark romance or a thriller!
There's many things you can do to pass this reading slump. Not all might work for you - some might not work at all or might just not work at certain moments. Reading slumps (as anything in life) depends on a lot of factors. You might try to reread some of your old favorites - it might favourite books in general or some childhood favourites that you used to love to read when you were a kid or when you first started reading. Also, try to do other activities that are not reading: paint, draw, watch shows/movies, write, etc. Just any other hobby you might have. Another solution might be try reading cozy books that are safe bets (fun books with easy banter, barely any or easy plot and worldbuilding, etc).
However you choose to get through your reading slump, just know you are not alone and this is just a phase. It shall pass.
There are three tricks I use to get out of a reading slump: 1) Read one of your comfort reads/favourite books.
2) Read a spicy fast book that doesn't require brain power. (I usually reach for Wait For You or Stay With Me by J. Lynn/Jen. a.)
3) Buddy read with a friend! It'll force you to keep.
Hope you get out of your slump!
F wrote: "Audiobooks, I've loved them lately and feel like I'm reading a lot since I use them"agreed, yes. Audiobooks are what got me out when I was in a slump. Definitely worth a try :)
Audiobooks, change genre, short books, easy reads, set a timer and make yourself read 15/20 mins a day
Try to get a book from your comfort genre, maybe the one you're currently reading doesn't speak to you. Maybe also try to change the reading spot or the reading habit. For example, prepare yourself a cup of tea to enjoy while reading.
Honestly what gets me out of the reading slump EVERY TIME is making myself read 15/20 mins a day. Just pick a book, put a timer on you phone and flip it. Make yourself read until timer goes out.
I go back and read my fave books or books that got me back into reading when I'm in a slump. Or I turn to more audiobooks that are middle school/easy reads.
Don't be afraid to try a bunch of stuff you think you might like and DNF what you're not feeling it. Maybe try a reread of an old fave or an audiobook?
I went through one recently. The feelings attached to this is overwhelming. However, what I did was, I started with a book and didn't criticize myself for not reading either enough or fast enough. Even if you read one sentence in a week, you should be proud for trying. After I did this, I started regaining my motivation and got right back into it. Note that it took me 4 months to actually finish that book. Don't be too hard on yourself <3
