I also loved Pony by RJ Palacio but I think it will appeal to teachers and kids, but not necessarily librarians or the committee.

"Starfish" by Lisa Phipps. Written in verse and speaking for a marginalized group of overweight children.
Just purchased Pony by RJ Palacio, which I am eager to read. Also loved Worst Case Collin by Rebecca Caprara
and Starfish by Lisa Phipps. Have heard rave reviews about Just Like That by Gary Schmidt.
