What do you like/ dislike about audiobooks? :)

Am I the only one who loves audiobooks? 😳

I find that I can’t focus on what is happening in the story and get distracted easily. Also, when I read I like to sometimes re-read some lines to understand it better but I feel like that’s harder with audiobooks. But for those that like it I have major respect for you.

It's so hard for me to concentrate and I like having coming up with individual voices in my head instead of somebody trying to do it themselves 😔 But it would be much better if I liked audiobooks because it saves so much time

That’s ok, they don’t work out for everyone. :)
For me, they are a very convenient means of reading. I always listen in 2x speed it faster.

I’d recommend you to try The Hobbit, or There and Back Again audiobook by Andy Serkis.
Amazing narration! Feels like a movie. ❤️

First there is the subject of purple prose; when authors sort of deviate from the point and I find the need re-reading parts of the chapter. Then there is the satisfaction of flipping pages (be it on a Kindle or a real book) and the freedom to interpret character voices which you don't get while reading audiobooks. Just my opinion; I'd like to hear what someone who likes audiobooks thinks :)

That is definitely there.
I had a hard time reading The Gilded Wolves audiobook due to the same reason, and the fact that the pronunciation in all the Sanskrit rods were incorrect.

Since I knew the language it was very annoying :/

But I feel audiobooks are very convincing and super easy to read. I can finis an audiobook in a day sometimes. Totally respect your opinion though! :)

I love audiobooks too! Especially for those chunky or epic fantasy books that have a ton of fantastical names to pronounce! They are life savers lol!

I hate audiobooks for a few reasons.
I can't concentrate. My mind just wonders away.
The voices are awful. Why do they sound like robots? Or half robots?
I can't visualize and become part of the story, because as soon as i hear one detail I have to pay attention to the next and i end up forgetting most of it.

I love listening to audio books, but only certain types of books, if it’s too complicated then I usually can’t keep up.
I also have to do something while I listen, or else I can’t focus, because my mind wanders a lot.

I usually borrow them at an online library, but I think they can be bought in some online bookshops as well

wHAT?? HOW ARE THERE SO MANY PEOPLE HOW DON'T LIKE AUDIOBOOKS?? THEY'RE AMAZING

I always have two books going. A print or ebook and an audiobook! I would never reach my yearly reading goal with audiobooks! They are my friend!!
