Carol The Song of Achilles is Madeline Miller's debut novel. A fast-paced retelling of the Iliad, it won both the Orange Prize and the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2012.

Parable of the Sower is the first in the Earthseed series, set in California 2025, which was 30 years in the future when it was originally published.

The Farm is Filipino-American Joanne Ramos's debut novel. It is set in a fictional facility named Golden Oaks, also called "The Farm", where women serve as surrogates for wealthy clients.

The Red Tree is psychological horror with a 44-year old heroine, notwithstanding the unfortunate cover art despised by many reviewers who love the novel, taking place in rural Rhode Island.

The Gate to Women's Country, Sheri S. Tepper's best known novel, is often referred to as classic feminist science fiction, taking place 300 years in the future in a post-apocalyptic world.
