5-6 at a time, nearly always. I have a Kindle book on my phone for times when I'm stranded with nothing else with me--it's a good book, and even with gaps of a week or more between visits, I have no problems keeping up with where I am. I also have an audiobook going on my phone and usually manage to listen on what I consider to be a dreadful listening device for an hour or so daily (I might like it better if I could find some Bluetooth earbuds that would actually stay in my ears). I always have a digital book in progress on my Kobo and try to read that for at least half an hour before sleep, and often eye read other times during the day. Then I have 2 audiobooks going on 2 Sandisk Clip players--one light listen, and 1 more complex. Then when I get a review assignment, other things step back a day or two while that gets priority. 5-6 is what I add up, and there might be another, possibly DT, going on as well. I never forget where I am in the stories and have no problems focusing and/or enjoying them all--remember all the reading we had to juggle in high school and college? The only books that go on for more than a week are the ones on my phone, or the occasional non-fiction title. There are plenty of DNFs in my life--I'm a part-time librarian, and read lots of short samples, some of which I may go back to when I have more time to work them in.

Wow! That’s a very well thought out way to read. :)

if the story of the book has hooked me on then i read only one book at a time to finish off the series. And if the story is not that great but "alright" then i pick up other books. But the number never exceeds 2.

I do that sometimes too, if I’m very hooked in a book. :)
