oshizu After voting, please feel free to suggest ideas for additional yearly challenges for 2021 in this COMMENTS section. They can be past yearly, quarterly, or monthly challenges that you think would make a great yearly challenge, or another challenge idea that we've have never done before.
Please keep in mind that a yearly challenge should have around 20+ prompts or the capacity for reading an equivalent number of books.

(For more information about the above 10 challenges, go to A Guide to the 2020 Yearly Challenges.)

Karin Brimicombe Not sure if this has ever been done, but I suggest a rainbow challenge . colors must be completed in order . One book per letter .
Red, Orange , Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink.
You can read as many rainbows as you like.

Mie I love reading mysteries! Detective novels, cozies, cross-genre, historical mysteries, stand-alones, series - all sorts 🤗 And I can see, that a lot of other members do, too 🤩 It would be fantastic to have a yearly challenge based on mystery books, and I would definitely have voted for that! 😉

Haven’t voted yet, still undecided... But I’ll be back to cast my vote later 👍

You're not alone, Mie! 🕵️‍♀️
I cannot possibly agree more with you 👍

Sunny I participated in the Quarter 3 Women of the World challenge this year and think it would be a nifty one to do for the whole year. 😉

message 6: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Ray I also really like the idea of Women of the World for a year long challenge. Also, there was a "members also enjoyed" or something like that challenge (maybe it was called branching out) for a quarterly or monthly challenge that I thought could be a good annual challenge. It was where you started with one book and then used Goodreads recommendations from that book to choose your next read.

AurorainBookland TBR jar this is a great idea and I'm going to try it.

Idea for the group

A kids book or middle grade book challenge, where you read books that are a kids chapter book like Nims island or middle grade like Fairy tale reform school, Artemis Fowl etc?

The Rainbow Challenge idea sounds cool.

TCampbell What about the Clear the Shelves challenge? I didn’t see that on the list...that’s really my favorite

@TCampbell
In the Announcements post (here), it's explained that the five most active yearly challenges automatically return the next year.
Clear the Shelves ranks among those top five challenges, which is why it doesn't appear on the poll.

Make it 5 who would like to see a yearly challenge based on mystery books!

message 14: by Manda (new)

Manda 6! A mystery challenge would be great!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I would also love to see a year long mystery challenge.

message 16: by Em (new)

Em I really enjoyed the Just the Facts mystery challenge this year. Would happily do that again next year :) Thanks Oshizu

message 17: by Alison (new)

Alison I, too, have so enjoyed the Just the Facts mystery challenge and would like to see it as a yearly challenge! I also really enjoyed the Q3 Women of the World and would participate in a yearly challenge along that theme :)

I'm genuinely surprised Bingo Genre isn't amongst the top 5! My vote is in *crosses fingers*

Ashleigh Motbey I'd love to see a challenge like the Chain Game. You start with a book, then the next book is linked to the first one somehow (could be anything like same author first name, character name, title name, colour of cover, absolutely any link).

I really enjoyed the a-z challenge so voted for that but was also hoping to participate in the tbr challenge this year as I was so tempted to sign up this year but didn't bring myself to do it! Hoping both get picked haha

The chain game sounds fun!

message 21: by Tresdivas (new)

Tresdivas Maybe a non-fiction bonus book in the monthly chalennge. Biography, history, current events.
I didn't find a lot of women around the world. Maybe monthly challenge with books about \ from different regions of the world. A different region each month. Books about indigenous people from around the world.
Books about different religions \ beliefs \ life styles \ economic\ political, etc, -- tolerance & education about these things. We need, as a people, especially in the US, to find a way to accept each other, education about each other helps.
