Enemies to lovers. Even when I was a little kid I favored this trope and nothing has changed!!

I can't choose three tropes, but if I could in no particular order:

♥ Virgin heroine, cuz I'm not fond of OM (other men), but only if h's aren't stupid goody goodies. Vigins can and should kick ass!

♥ Enemies to lovers, cuz I love when H and h argue...so good!

♥ zombie Hero!!!.... LOL just kidding, I'd love there were more zombie heroes, but the closest thing is... Dark hero/antihero/Villian. The most irredeemable the H the better. And if he's a virgin like I swoon so so hard.

And luckily, thanks to my AWESOMETACULAR friends I have found books that combine my favorite tropes

Yep... a lot of Laura Thalassa in this post, but she's the queen of the safe-ish enemies to lovers trope and her heroines are SO BAD ASS!!

Interestingly enough, many of the options are not my favorites at all, so I had no problem ruling them out. But, none really fit my favorites either. So I ultimately selected nerdy girl/hot guy (you know, because I had to pick something). I almost chose the last option - terrifying alphas turned teddy bear! — but let’s face it, they don't turn teddy bear. They stay true to their “alphaness”. I know I wouldn’t love them if they turned soft! I don’t know if I have an actual favorite, but I do love Protectors, Celebrity, Immortals and Humans, Small Town Romance. Yeah, I know, its too hard to pick just one.

I love Reverse Harem but not virgin heroine.
Nerdy girl/hot guy is my fave though I think. Always.

Kate is, I'd dare to say, sort of an adversaries-to-lovers (as opposed to enemies). They kind of have a lot of reasons not to be friends and even just by their first meeting (Here, kitty, kitty =D) you could say they have to work through a lot of stuff to get a place where they can trust each other, even if they (at least in my opinion) like each other almost right from the start.

Strong heroine does not seem like a trope (as opposed to say virgin ones - that's just another way of saying First Time). But that makes me think...

You guys want to make a Poll for most favourite Type of Hero/ine and Love interest? Separate ones, of course. It'd be tricky, cause it's hard to define a character type but that's what comments are for =D.

Slow burn with an alpha female/alpha male who learn that working together works the best.

I chose Enemies to Lovers! Although I wish there were more books where the enemy or villain gets the girl without being some secret good guy. Laura Thalassa is the only one I’ve really found that does a true bad guy.

Have you seen this listopia list of "Villian gets the girl?" it's like filled with Antiheroes, redeemed bad boys, dark heroes, but truly villainous heroes are scarce. Thalassa's heroes fit that list perfectly.

I read on your recommendations and really enjoyed it! She's a determined virgin heroine, my favorite kind of h and he's so suprised by her inner strength...so good!
And Sweety-chan, my love, if you don't want me to enter fangirling mode never get me started on Amy Harmon's master pieces like
Amy Harmon should be in a category of her own, or other authors will feel like ....why should they bother? They'll never reach those heights!!

I totally get why enemies to lovers is such a loved, loved trope. Most of my OTPS, in the top 5, embody that trope but friends to lovers never fails to make my heart so warm. Especially if it's friends who've known each other since they were kids and grow feelings

I have read sooo many lists but never usually find a true villain like you said. Have you read Crimson Kiss? That’s another where the guy is truly evil.

The best terifying alpha turned teddy bear series is the Karen Marie Moning Fever series!! OMG! He does'nt turn into a teddy bear but he DOES turn into something! Best bad boy,alpha, amazing love story etc. Hands down my favorite paranormal seies EVER!!

I love so many tropes, but just because it's so difficult to find well-done first-timers they have my vote. I hate reading about a Virgin H paired up with a nonvirgin h that acts as though for her, sex with H, his first time isn't a big deal. I also avoid books that feature a virgin h that is paired up with a manwhore that after taking her virginity goes and flirts with OW (other woman).

But when virginity is handled well, like in the old romance classics, the book becomes an instant favorite.

Resenting the Hero by Moira J Moore

The romance develops over the series- which is one of my favorite series ever 😉

I like a variety of tropes, but if the author commits, enemies-to-lovers rarely misses with me, especially if it’s a slowburn with tons of banter. It’s like a moth to a flame. I’m drawn to sports romances too. Marriages of convenience (or inconvenience too lol) is another I gravitate to when it’s done well. There’s definitely others I enjoy, but these tend to be at the top of the heap.

Let’s see, examples...examples off the top of my head -
You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico (enemies-to-lovers AND marriage of convenience & inconvenience at the same time)
From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata (enemies-to-frenemies-to-lovers and sports romance)
Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese (frenemies-to-lovers and sports romance.)

I like all of the above but I just love reverse harem romances with a strong and independent heroine. One of my favourite series with that trope is The Lost and the Chosen

Not really a romance person myself, but friends to lovers/partners is always nice. Like Widdershins by Charles de Lint. Satisfying conclusion to the Jilly/Geordie relationship.

Everyone loves an enemies-to-lovers and so do I. But they're rarely done well (and this counts for most of the tropes listed here lol)

God, this is so hard. It all depends on execution lol I ended up picking enemies to friends to lovers because that's always a favorite, but it really just depends on the specific situation and how the author chooses to write it
