New to Goodreads, well sort of, I enjoy horror, psychology thrillers, crime fiction and really good fantasy. I am pretty open minded when it comes to a really good book so I am in
I think it would be interesting to read books that King has recommended or referenced. For example;Reading Dracula alongside Salems' Lot or Something Wicked This Way Comes along side The Dead Zone
I like, and often read the non-King books. But I'm having a hard time keeping up. So I have to pick and choose. I usually can't do those two books and the other books people often give me in the same month.
For sure would like to read a non Stephen King book :) As long as it has an element of horror, I'm all up for it :p
Personally, I've been searching for "the next King." I prefer SK's older books over his latest and I've read them so many times... Lately I've been trying to find others who give me the same kind of feeling I got when I read books like The Shining for the first time. J.D. Barker is good. Josh Malerman. I've found a few others. Maybe mix it up with people like that?
There are two problems with my answer: "Yes, I love to join in and read the Non-King book"1) I probably won't have time to read with you even if I want to and
2) I kinda joined this group for the recommendations and discussions, King and non-King, so that I can find the best of this genre. (So thanks!)

I read all kinds of books..I can't read only Stephen King books, my head might explode!
Lulu, I liked your comment. So...hmmm. That's what's wrong with me? That's all I been reading this year. I want to give the old man a rest, like I did with Willy Shake-my-peers...but I drungenally have become... (I shiver with fear as I finish my thought) I have become HIS NUMBER 1 FAN, of a constant reader. (Me? Yeah, the woman without chinos or a Sam brown belt.)
I love reading Stephen King... but I hear his son is a good author too. That is sort of still following the theme.

his books are addictive! but most of them are sooo long (though I admit I listened more than read which makes it easier). Maybe you read too many sweet lovely dovey books and have had enough and wen the other way? 🧐☺️
