I never quite seem to get organized to join these! I am pleased to say that I have read Kidnapped by Mark Tedeschi. The author was the NSW director of public prosecutions so brings great legal knowledge to his subject. The book concerns the kidnapping of Graeme Thorne, whose parents had just won the Opera House lottery. The winnings seem laughably small by today’s standards, even allowing for inflation. I remember the case vividly as I was born the same year as Graeme Thorne (and Mark Tedeschi). It may not have the same interest for younger readers, but it was a very high profile case at the time in 1960. I would recommend it as a good read!
I agree Amanda. I met Mark once when he was launching this book, and the history was fascinating. I found the book heartbreaking but an excellent read.

The moderators choose the topic for each month, and also choose the books to fit that topic. We used to have nominations before we decided on a moderator choice, but it got way out of control. So if you look in the Group Read section each month, you'll see the choices for voting plus the book of the month we choose :)
