UFO: The Greatest Stories: $3.00
I considered nominating this book myself, but hesitated to do so given that it’s out of print and, more specifically, not available in e-form. But, as Lena notes, relatively cheap used copies are available. The anthology contains older classic stories by well-known SF authors: publication dates range from 1950 (“The Silly Season” by C. M. Kornbluth) to 1977 (“All the Universe in a Mason Jar” by Joe Haldeman). The complete contents can be seen here on ISFDB.
On a different note, has anyone in the group already read the X-Files anthology? I only ask because I wonder to what extent an appreciation of the individual stories depends on a deep familiarity with the television series. I was never more than a casual fan of that show and largely eschewed the alien conspiracy episodes.

And thanks to Canavan I just saw The Venus Hunters is included in UFO: The Greatest Stories.
I was a huge X-Files fan and have seen every episode up until and including the movie. After that I believe I was in college and just lost track. I meant to watch the new season and forgot. I’m surprised I have not read any X-Files books. I even have trading cards and the last time I purged my 90s magazines I still kept all the X-Files ones, lol.

Can’t believe I forgot this: Those Who Fight Monsters: Tales of Occult Detectives
It’s been on my mental TBR for ages and BookBubs just reminded me today to pick up a copy.
