#451 on the hold list (I placed the request a month ago) for Nine Perfect Strangers (on the 74 copies the library has). With a 2 week checkout standard, I'm hoping people chose to read this book fast.

Nine Perfect Strangers or Calypos both sound interesting.
Kamilah - I had the same thing happen when we did a read of Gone Girl in another group. I was some crazy number on the hold list and ended up reading it a few months after everyone else. Fortunately, people still chatted with me about it. Good thing they have a bunch of copies. That helps too.
Why are people commenting what they're voting for?
Sometimes people do that, Lex. I just hope they’re clicking on the book in the poll as well to make their vote count.
Silly question, it's been a very long time since I have read anything with the group, but I'll get a notification of some sort on which book to read correct?
I only send out one email reminding people to vote. Once the books have been selected you can find them posted to the home page. They're usually posted a couple of weeks before the month starts so that people have time to plan and acquire the books. I don't send out another email though.

I think it depends where you live, Kamilah, and how many libraries are in your system. If it was just one library, it would be a lot. Fortunately, with that many copies you should be able to get one somewhat quickly.

There are 22 libraries in Wake County, NC (where Raleigh is located). Population over 1 million. Population as grown 2.7x from 30 years ago.
That's an eye opener for me lol.
Yes, I believe the Raleigh area has been booming. I have a cousin that just moved to the area with her family. My husband and I looked around there too when we moved a couple of years back. It's a nice area.
