Sometimes I see this group, and other groups, band together to work through a more challenging book. I hope we do the same this time. I am excited to see what we decide on. Fingers crossed.

Me too Cynda! And even though they are so varied, I want to read them all, and am having a tough time choosing :D

I really liked Educated but The Soul of an Octopus still resonates with me over 3 year down the road. It is a lifetime read.

This is the 3rd group I'm in that Educated is leading in a poll and yet it doesn't mesh with me. Maybe I will circle back to it at a later date. With my busy schedule now a celebrity memoir from one of my favorites Michael J Fox is just what I need at this time.

I have already read the Soul of an Octopus, Educated and Sapiens, They are all superb, The soul of an Octopus is somewhat like the Flowers of Algernon in the way it makes you feel after reading. I try to vote for ones I have not read before so I will go for the Hughes,

Twice I have read The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary. Intriguing read for those who like/might like how life has odd twists or love English language and the making of dictionaries.

I will be happy to read most of these books and would read any of them with group.

Yeah that was a good one. I read it a couple years ago so probably wouldn't re-read it but it would be fun to discuss. And I guess they made a movie version with Mel Gibson and Sean Penn but it hasn't been released due to some kind of legal issues.

Awesome Brina! I hope you enjoy it. I read it a while back and it was pretty good. He has a TV special of this book too that came on a while back too. I think you can watch it on YouTube.

Amber, I will be happy if I can find time to read the book. Of course, anything with Michael J Fox on tv is an added bonus. If I don't get to this now, I will earmark it for my next vacation.
