Nothing really goth or spooky about it as far as I know.
Paperback, 510 pages

Cousin Bette
Paperback, 468 pages
Edition Published February 12th 2002 by Modern Library (first published 1846)
Not a lot of difference in length?
Hunchback -- well known?
Cousin Bette -- ?
Both apparently considered major classics. Not sure I am up to tackling either one right now. I have had more contact with Hugo's story than Balzac's. I'm impressed by the number of voters in the first round! Enjoy, whatever you choose. I'll not be voting, whether or not I eventually join in reading whatever is selected. Either should be an exciting discussion if 20+ people participate!
