What a difficult choice! I'm going with 1990, because I've wanted to reread Possession and to read Gate of Angels and Amongst Women. But I'm always eager to learn reactions to Kelman's How Late It Was, How Late.
I'm leaving this open for only a couple of days, so make sure you get your votes in! Right now, 1990 has a healthy lead, but one easily overtaken if people vote.
Happy to add my weight to the majority - I have read 2 or 3 of each of these, but 1990 has the best balance between male and female writers, and although Kelman is one of the few winners I have yet to read it isn't one I am looking forward to.
I was originally going to vote for 1990, but then '97 piqued my interest. I guess I'll end up happy either way the poll goes....
Hmmmm, I feel a tad guilty voting as I haven't managed to join in much with the others but I can't resist a 1990 vote.
Five votes separate 1990 and 1997. The other two don't look like they'll be able to win, so if folks who voted for 1994 or 1999 want to rock the vote a bit, you can change your votes. You can either help 1990 solidify its win or make things tighter by voting for 1997.
Either way, I'm sure it will be fun!

One of my motivations in this vote was that I'd like to read some Beryl Bainbridge. She has several books on Booker long and short lists but I have never heard of her.
Almost done here! With only four votes separating 1990 and 1997, it's just met the too-close-to-call, though history makes me think the votes necessary to oust 1990 will not arrive in time. But don't order the books quite yet!
