Zaz It worked well for me 2 years in a row, so I'll continue with "mostly in order" :)

message 2: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Have you finished the challenge every year, Zaz? This is my first year so I will try mostly in order. Hope the library is kind to me!

message 3: by MJ (new)

MJ I just can't read in order it feels like an assignment if i have to read what's next!

message 4: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. I'm doing multiple challenges, so I will definitely be jumping around.

message 5: by Anna (new)

Anna What's the difference between "I won't follow the order" and "I'll mostly jump around"?

message 6: by Zaz (new)

Zaz Samantha > yes, I finished both years (well, I've 70 pages left for my last 2016 book so I'll finish in 1-2days). I don't use the library, so it's easier for me to read in order.

Anna >
- Wont' follow = read in whatever order (aka mood picking).
- Mostly jump around = read a little part in order and most of the rest out of order (probably a good match for people using the library, who try to read at least a little in order if the book is available at the moment).

Thanks for clarifying Zaz!

message 8: by Bec (new)

Bec I don't follow the order either. I've got 150 pages for my last book for this year which is the book set in the past. I read on kindle and borrow from the library - so tend to get what I can when I can and then where my mood takes me!

message 9: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Mod
I do mostly order but I also do lots of library books, so if a book comes through, I'll skip ahead to it

message 10: by Jody (new)

Jody Jump up, jump up and get down.

(That song always gets in my head)

No order at all for me in 2017. It didn't work for me this year, but I'm glad I at least tried it.

message 11: by J (new)

J Austill I managed to read none of the books in the proper weeks in 2016 and I fully intend to continue.

message 12: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I really want to say that I will read in order, but it didn't work out that way for my this year. I am going to give it another try in 2017 and see if I have better luck!

message 13: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Martin I will probably stay in order, will make this easier

message 14: by Melody (new)

Melody MJ wrote: "I just can't read in order it feels like an assignment if i have to read what's next!"

For me, if it is like an assignment I will actually get it done.

message 15: by Tashy (new)

Tashy Jones I'm going in order this time, tried random this year and ended up completely forgetting about the challenge

message 16: by Katie (new)

Katie I did completely out of order this year, so I'm excited to try something harder this year and read in order. I really need to get my book for the first well from the library now though! It's coming up so soon!

message 17: by Anna (new)

Anna I did completely random this year and there is no way I'm going to finish, so next year I'm going to try a combination of order and random, since I use the library for most of my books.

message 18: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie This year, I did everything out of order and don't think I'm going to finish, so I think I'll try to follow the order for 2017 as best I can. I planned out reads that work well around one another, like a short book following something epic or a light read after something really intense, so I think sticking to the order will help me finish the challenge!

message 19: by Rokkan (new)

Rokkan I think my problem is going to be limiting myself to one book a week XD I read more than quadruple that amount in 2016! Maybe I'll swap a few books in and out if they fit challenges...

message 20: by Crisanda (new)

Crisanda MJ wrote: "I just can't read in order it feels like an assignment if i have to read what's next!"

Same.

message 21: by Karen (new)

Karen Samantha wrote: "Have you finished the challenge every year, Zaz? This is my first year so I will try mostly in order. Hope the library is kind to me!"

I hope it is also. Mine is not the best in getting a book that works when needed. Welcome to the challenge. Have fun.

message 22: by Francesca (new)

Francesca I'll be jumping around, as per usual. I find it easier as it allows me to read what I'm in the mood for and especially this year as I'm mostly filling the challenge in as I go so I won't necessarily know which topics my books fit into until I start reading them.

Jenna ✨DNF Queen✨Here, Sometimes... I got totally sidetracked last year and found myself falling into that 'assignment' mindset a little... so this year I'm trying not to be so rigid with myself about order etc. and I think the flexibility will help

message 24: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Audiogirl.booking.it I think it would be impossible to follow an order... cause depends on mood... and when books come from library wait list! :) Plus I am in a book club so already have at least one book a month that is decided. So jumping around and adding other books not on the list will work great to keep me entertained! :)

Wow! Wish I had that problem, I can't read that quickly. Now I have seen all the posts re: in order or not.... still not sure what I should do. I think I am going to try to stick to the order but read them at my own speed.

message 26: by Michelle (new)

Michelle My plan is to follow the order (something I've never done with our little challenge) but I voted for "mostly follow the order" in case books come from the library a bit out of order.
