Have we done any of ERB's Pellucidar books yet?
At the Earth's Core

I don't think we've done any Edgar Rice Burroughs

Jeff Greason Hmmmm! Well, while I wasn't thinking of this for 'Airships', there are plenty of air craft held up by "the Eighth ray" in "A Princess of Mars ...." if you're looking for ERB and "Airships" win :)

JackCrow There were the blimp creatures in John Varley's Gaea Trilogy.
The characters used them for travel.

As for stories that would feature blimps/zeppelins predominately that would be the Steampunk genre. I haven't read anything Steampunk so I can't recommend anything.

On a scientific note there is the High Altitude Venus Operational Concept (HAVOC) which is a proposal for the manned exploration of Venus using Airships both for habitation and exploration.
