The Key to Extraordinary was being sold at my Scholastic book fair in November - are we sure it's eligible? Doesn't it have to be first published in 2016?

BITTER SIDE OF SWEET barely slides into the Newbery age range of up to fourteen. I'm not discounting it but it is not a comfortable read, content wise.
The book went on sale at Scholastic Book Fairs on January 19, 2016, not in November. It is an early, paperback edition with a different cover from the hardcover just published. Same wonderful book!
I would love to read Rayme Nightingale when it comes out. I loved Pax! It is beautifully written, told through the alternating voices of the boy and his fox, and holds you in its grip from beginning to end.
I have read and enjoyed Paper Wishes. Looking forward to seeing what other people thought of this book. I enjoyed Paper Wishes more than Pax.
How about The Charmed Children of Rookskill Castle?Have read Some Kind of Courage (particularly exciting read for boys) and Pax (theme is foremost, to the detriment of character and plot), have Paper Wishes up next. Look forward to Rayme Nightingale.

Since Raymie Nightingale won't be released until mid-April, perhaps we could consider it for the May read?
I would love to see Some Kind of Courage as our pick. I've read Raymie, Paper Wishes and I just finished KEY. It was fantastic!

Just read Paper Wishes, which I thought was spot on in its depiction of a very unhappy little girl forced to move to an internment camp for Japanese Americans.
Also read The Charmed Children....which was good, but left too many plot holes to be filled with telling not showing.
