This is a tough one. When I'm just browsing theme is most important but often I'm looking for something specific in which case the number or type of stories matters more. I do like supernatural stories for example. Good cover art always helps! In this age of casual self publishing, top notch cover art says to me that someone cares and it isn't an cat fishing scam. (although who would cat fish storytellers I don't know...)
