Groups, giveaways and listopias in that order, then quotes only if I really enjoy the book, quizzes would be cool if they were official ones, and rarely polls outside of my groups.

none of these,i frequently use the popular shelves..for example "books shelved time travel" "books shelved serial killer"...etc
good point Bea... I answered Listopia since its the most used feature on the list, but I too use Recommendations more... both generic, and book-specific in the side widget
This poll should be one without the side remarks, imho. I enter giveaways every day, but the free books comment is way off from my reasons. Giveaways, Love quizzes, listopia, polls, and absolutely love love love the quotes all equally. An all the above option would be great, but there's no way to do a write in.
I love the quotes and keeping track of my favorites from my books, as well as reading new ones. But most of all, keeping track of the books I want to read.
I voted for the lists however I do enjoy my groups as well as the polls and quotes. I used to use the giveaways all the time as well but I have not been entering as many as I used to. My favorite features were not listed though. I love being able to keep track of how many books I have read and being able to shelve them separately so I can find them easier as well as being able to keep track of how many times I read a specific book.
1. Shelving to keep my book organized and track what I've read2. Reviews - my own and others
3. Listopia
I am such a sucker for lists and I love them and wish that Goodreads had more of them, for example for award winners and notable books lists and the like. However I do probably use the groups feature the most since I participate in quite a few and I love actually discussing books!
Oops. Totally meant to say polls. I wish there were more. I also spend a lot of time using the quotes section.
I am saying 'polls' now simply because I want to be more quickly involved. I also enjoy reading the various "Quotes'
I think the Reading Challenge should have been added to the poll. Far and away, it is my favorite thing about Goodreads. I love that I can set a reading goal, review the book, and it can be saved forever. I look back at books I've read in previous years and often use the reviews to make recommendations to friends. It is the perfect reading tool IMHO.
Sometimes I am hesitant to grab a book to read, first because there seem to be so many good books out there and it is difficult to make up my mind, and second because as I read each book it substantially changes how I feel and view the world. Just by knowing another person can sometimes threaten the otherwise 'staid' feeling I have about my life. I fear the change. I know this is important to get over, but sometimes I fear my mind being stretched too far. I need the reviews because they quell my fears of change.
Lately -- I've been working on blogging about issues. Many of these topics are touched in some of the eBooks and books I am reading. Others have been mentioned in my own writings.I find that sometimes I surprise myself with the strength and energy that is expressed concerning these topics -- many thoughts can be revisited or may actually resurface in a new manner. In short, I am compelled to stretch my mind and consider thoughts joining in new ways.
These days I just want to complete the process of choosing a book, reading it, reviewing it and then freely blogging to see what comes up.
Actually the parts I use most and appreciate the most is the virtual book shelf (and the associated suggestions that come from each shelf of books to read) and the reading progress to my yearly goal meter thing.
Giveaways all the way. Since many of the books listed there will very unlikely find their way to the shop or library shelves in my home country, leaving me with only two options (1. purchase from abroad with what are usually insane shipping costs added to the price, 2. never read the book in question whatsoever), might as well try my luck by taking part in a giveaway.
Oh yes, and I agree with Jennifer's post on Jan 9th, that the "Reading Challenge" should definitely be added because I too use that more than any listed in the above answers I gave. So make that 1) the Reading Challenge, 2) quizzes and 3) quotes! Thanks!
I use my bookshelf & browsing my friends' and random bookshelves the most-but there wasn't an option for that :/
In random order:1) Groups (I'm moderator of one); all aspects of a group such as group reads, challenges, discussions, polls, bookshelves...
2) Listopia's (love them...)
Definitely polls! Once I actually discovered them (They are so out of the way!), I became almost obsessed. I have made many.
I changed my vote. I joined a group and now I use it all the time! Polls are still a close second, though.
Random that none of that I really use goodreads for is listed.Shelving my books.
Rating and reviewing.
Collecting my to-reads.
etc
Other than lists sometimes. The rest I don't really bother with.
Listopia and genres - all for finding new books to read. And the most ironic part is that neither of these features are available in the mobile app.
Quizzes are very fun although they're hard. After that quotes are one of the most important things that I open goodreads for them.
