It is quite a predicament to be both evil and risk-averse. Even the cheapest misers can be generous with advice. If you lie to me, keep lying; don’t hurt me by suddenly telling the truth. It is easy for others, but not for you, to detect the asymmetry between what you gain and what you give by doing, writing, or saying.
