Kranz switched from Flight’s loop to an auxiliary loop that the people in the viewing room couldn’t hear. The tape of what he said is lost. As best he can recall, what he told his controllers went something like this: “Hey gang, we’re really going to go and land on the moon today. This is no bullshit, we’re going to land on the moon. We’re about to do something that no one has ever done.
