I realized that love doesn’t have to be exclusive. That it can grow to include others. Marissa is a wonderful person. She’s been dying to meet you so you two could get to know each other, and then we could all finally be together.”
that is 100% true, but that desire is something you COMMUNICATE with your partner as soon as you consider it- you don't spring it on them in public after you have already pursued it.
If Eli really was polyamorous, why would he hide it for so long? Because he never truly loved me. He loves what I can give him, loves that I do anything he needs. Loves that he gets to be in charge. That thought made her stomach churn. How could she have been so stupid? How could she have been so blind after all this time? Because I desperately wanted someone to love me for once. To see me as enough.
Marissa turned on her chair to face Willow, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. “I am so, so sorry for this. It’s my fault for taking him at his word, and it’s not the way any of this is supposed to work. For what it’s worth, everything he’s told me about you makes you out to be a wonderful person. You deserve so much better than this.” Willow searched Marissa’s gaze, recognizing the same anger and hurt in it that simmered within herself. “Thank you.” She didn’t blame the woman. Eli had played them both. Marissa dropped her hand and stood. “If you haven’t already guessed, Eli, we’re done.”
Eli groaned and sat back in his chair, scrubbing a hand over his face. “This didn’t go the way I hoped.”
“There is nothing to work out.” Willow rose to her feet and thrust her glass forward. Champagne splashed over Eli’s face. Eli sputtered, scooting his chair back loudly as he spread his arms. Champagne dripped down his face and hair. “Willow! What the fuck?” A hush fell over the restaurant, but Willow didn’t care. She’d cause as much of as scene as she damn well pleased. “You’re a self-centered, manipulative asshole, and we’re through.”
he'd only seemed so great because her past experiences had set the bar very, very low. She'd convinced herself that all the little things that felt wrong were normal, that it was just her.
Eli isn’t worth my heart, anyway. He isn’t worth any of this. Telling herself that didn’t stop it from hurting.
“I see,” he said, a slight rumble entering his voice. “That’s his loss then.” Willow sniffled and wiped her cheeks again. “I’m okay though. Really. Thank you for checking on me, but you…you don’t have to stand here with me.” “I’m not ready to walk away from you.”
Willow released a slow, shaky breath. He stroked her other cheek. “That’s a good girl.” Heat pooled between her thighs. Oh God. She never would’ve imagined being called a good girl could be sexy, but hearing it from this man? In that voice?
“You looked distressed.” He slipped his hands into his pockets and leaned his hip against the railing. “I’m not going to hurt you, Violet. No need to be afraid.” Willow tilted her head and stared at him blankly. “That’s what they all say before they kidnap you, cut you into little pieces, and hide the evidence at the bottom of the river.”
The man snickered, and his hand inched closer to hers, rings lightly scraping the railing. “I keep my plans malleable. When an opportunity arises, I take it. And tonight, I’m going to help you forget him.” Willow looked up at him. “What do you mean?” He turned his head, and those entrancing eyes captured hers. His lips curled into a slow, sinful smile. “I’m offering you the best night of your life, Violet. Pleasure beyond your wildest dreams. What better way to put him behind you?” Her eyes widened. “You… Are you telling me you want to have sex with me?” “No, I’m telling you I’m going to have

she couldn’t be sure whether she’d really loved Eli…or if she’d just loved the idea of the life she had imagined them sharing.
That laugh, light, high, and unassuming, unburdened by self-consciousness, that true, heartfelt laughter, belonged to Willow. It was a sound he’d longed to hear for what felt like an eternity, and it washed over him like balm for his flagging soul.
“I’ve never felt sexy,” Amanda said, head down. “It’s so hard when everyone around you judges you for how you look.” Willow adjusted the tote strap on her shoulder. “I know. I’ve been there. I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not be happy with what you see, to stand there picking at every flaw. But I finally gave everyone a big eff you and worked on loving myself. I took the leap myself four years ago and scheduled a boudoir session. I broke down in tears when I saw my pictures. I couldn’t believe that was me, that I could be that sexy vixen staring at the camera so

want your pleasure. I want you to writhe in ecstasy, to scream my name, to claw at my skin. I want you to come undone. And then I want to do it again, and again, and again, because you have made me yearn like never before.”
“I want love. The kind of love that doesn’t die. That keeps burning, on and on, and is so much bigger and brighter than any flame. The kind of love that only happens when two souls see each other and know they can’t exist without one another.”
“Give me a chance,” he whispered before brushing his lips over her forehead. “Show me. Teach me about mortal love. Teach me how to love you.”
He’d seen humans eating together all the time. Sharing meals was one of their favorite things to do as a species. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, after-dinner drinks, dessert, midnight snacks, drunken drive-thru trips—mortal lives revolved around food. What was there to mess up here?
Its so true. I didnt notice it until my allergies kicked in and icouldnt enjoy all those things normally.
He didn’t want to think about the scorn, mistrust, and ridicule he’d faced, didn’t want to think about the constant attempts to control him. To dominate him. And he certainly didn’t want to reflect upon the fact that all that cruelty had been directed at him because of what he was.
Though there were people everywhere, surrounding Kian with a storm of desires of varying power and insistence, he didn’t notice any of them. The unrelenting tide of emotions that always assaulted him could be tuned out with adequate concentration, but he didn’t have to concentrate when he was with Willow. She held his focus so wholly that everything else just faded away.
So yeah. I hated living with my parents. I found places to go if I wasn’t locked in my bedroom reading to escape my life.
These mortals burned bright and fast. Every moment, every concern, every sorrow and joy, was amplified for them. They viewed the world differently because they would be in it for only a short while.
She blushed, but her smile was wide. “I feel beautiful when you look at me.” He hooked a finger under her chin. “You should feel it all the time. Your radiance has nothing to do with me.”

She’d even had sex while flying. Flying! Never thought I’d join the mile-high club…especially not while I wasn’t even on a plane.
