“I read somewhere online that sans serif fonts are easier for people with dyslexia to read, so I changed my requirements. Forced everyone else I oversee to switch with me or else they would face my wrath. All because I wanted to help you.”
I'm sobbing
Declan doesn’t give me an option as he continues. “Want to know why I kept the cactus?” I nod. “Because it was the first time someone got me a present that made me laugh.”
If hearts could melt into puddles, mine would be liquified right about now.

His eyes dart away from my face. “Ask me why you were denied the job transfer.”
NO HE KNEW????
“Someone who doesn’t understand the first thing about loving someone, but is willing to try if you give me a chance.”
“I’m not asking you to love me back. I don’t expect that and I’m not sure if I ever will because I’m the furthest thing from lovable. I’m selfish, rude, and don’t know the first thing about being in a relationship with someone. But that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to try for you if you let me.”
I smile up at him. “I could get used to hearing those words.” He reaches up and cups my cheek. “Give me a chance and I’ll tell you them every single day.”
I've been crying this entire chapter and Declan keeps making it worse
“Tell me what’s stopping you.” “You don’t do relationships.” “Good thing I’m married then.” I shake my head. “Our marriage isn’t even real.” “A scrap of paper doesn’t define what we are. Feelings do, and mine are a hundred percent genuine.”
I avoid his penetrating gaze. “What if my feelings are telling me to run?” “It’s cute you think you can outrun me, but I’ll give you a head start just to make things interesting.”
“I’m ready whenever you are to get started on your little soccer team.”
“That’s not why people should have children. They’re a lifelong commitment—” He presses his lips against mine to shut me up. “Exactly.”
“We could have one kid or five, so long as you only have them with me. I’ll give you the minivan life, solely if you want it.”
I hate Declan so much
He told her he loved her in three different languages I'm simply not okay
“What is that?” Cal stops by my office door. “A dog.” I don’t look up from my computer. The dog barks in reply. He tries to break free from his leash attached to my desk but fails. “I see that, but why is it here? In your office?” “He has attachment issues.”
Lmaooooo
“Need a ride?”
He did NOT buy a minivan
“Whose dog is that?” I ask when he opens his door. “Ours.” “Ours?!” The dog barks with a reply.
Lmaooooo
Declan pulls out a ring box from his jacket and gets down on one knee. His face remains a blank canvas, completely devoid of any visible emotion as he looks up at me.
AHHHHHHHH
You’re my wife and my best friend. The future mother of my children and the one place that truly feels like home. You’re the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, not because you signed a contract, but because you love me enough to stay without one.
Shaking, crying, throwing up, sliding down the wall
“I’ll give you anything you want—anything at all—so long as you give me a chance to make you as happy as you make me. A dog. A family. A home. I want it all. These are my terms and conditions, take it or leave it because I’m not open to negotiations.”
