“Romance. There’s something so gratifying about picking up a book and knowing the two characters you fall in love with on the pages will fall in love with each other, too.”

“Isn’t it funny how such an infinitesimal moment can change the trajectory of your life?” “Yeah.” Aiden’s eyes flick to mine. “Remarkable, really.”

“Do you think we’re all lucky enough to find that love? The soul-crushing, can’t eat, can’t sleep kind of infatuation?”

“No. That love is rare. Sometimes even the ones in it don’t realize how lucky they are. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but I have hope. And hope is half the battle, isn’t it?”
