Grace’s Sugar Cookies cup butter ¾ cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 egg 4 teaspoons milk 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1½ teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt Roll the dough thin for 2 dozen cookies. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Thoroughly cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the egg and milk. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift together the dry ingredients. Blend into the creamed mixture. Divide the dough in half. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour. On a lightly floured surface, roll to -inch thickness. Cut into the desired shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from the cookie sheet.
