Napoleon scurried down the bed toward my feet. “Mon dieu, I was so excited to see you that I nearly forgot. Daddy of Thunder, please lift me to that vent.” “Daddy. Of. Thunder?” Cam choked out. If I had the strength, I would have been crying tears of laughter.
“I need you, Saige. I’ll always fucking need you.” He kissed my shoulder, his breath fanning over my skin and causing goosebumps to erupt. “In the darkness, you’re my sunshine. You’re the sun at dawn, chasing the shadows from my wicked soul. I love you, and I’m so sorry, kitten.” A tear fell and skated down my shoulder.
“My poor kitten,” I cooed, moving to sit now. I needed her in my arms. “C’mere, Miss Peabody.” She gasped in outrage, but was quickly tamed as I arranged her between my legs and started rubbing her back.
looked at my face, which still showed my shock at being pulled from the lake like a silly salmon. Pushing my hair out of my face, he bent in close to my ear. “The fact that you’re surprised right now just tells me I haven’t tossed you around the bedroom nearly enough. Once these girls are born, I’ll be sure to remedy that.” His tongue traced the shell of my ear, and a squeak came out of me, which had him chuckling silently.
‘Oh, sweet Cub. I’ve never stopped feeling you. You’re like the sun. Even when I can’t see you, I can feel you. Your warmth, the way you give me life. The way you brighten everything. Fuck Sprout, I need to see you. This is fucking killing me. I need to see your belly, to see with my own eyes how beautiful our mate looks carrying our babies.’
“Okay, you’re right. I’ll go heal people, but I swear to the stars, if he touches you again... I’m going to rip his eyeballs out, I’m going to juggle them, and then I’m going to ping-pong those motherfuckers into another dimension.”
