“No offense, but if I wanted a sugar daddy, I’d choose someone who’s a little less surly.” “You think I need another brat to take care of?” he challenges.
“Can I help you?” I ask, feigning confidence. “Why did you reject me at the bar, then call me so I could hear you say my name when you came on your fingers?” he demands.
“I’m glad you rejected me in the breakroom.” The sharpness of his words makes me flinch, and I step around him, heading to the driver’s side door as I grasp my keys in my shaking hands. “I didn’t––” “You did. But don’t worry.” I swear I hear a smirk in his voice. “Hearing you say my name as you came last night took the sting away.”
“Who did this to you?” I growl, desperate for confirmation before I put his body in the ground.
“Is there a problem?” Colt asks. “I need each of you to beat the shit out of Shorty during tonight’s game.” Theo cocks his head. “What?” “Every time you wind up in the penalty box because of Shorty, I’ll give you a ten thousand dollar bonus.”
Long stride. Dark gray suit. Perfectly tousled hair. Sexy smirk. Goodbye, dry panties.
